i wouldn't dare to introduce any of my irl friends to browser gaming site ever. i deny my involvement in site like this to my irl friends regardless how much fun it is. things like this just hurt my street cred :P and also my chances of advancing career. i rather admit to some twisted fetish porn over any pet site ever.

I'm still convinced the one user I have had for over two years on the pending list was actually suppose to have been for the user who previously had my UN. That would explain why they contacted me, right after joining, saying along the lines of, "Hi! I finally joined!" :|

The one time I would have actually had a referral, it was a mistake and they never did anything else onsite.

I understand why we have the referral shop, and the need for the site to grow. My frustration with it is that aside from the rainbow one those stickers never seem to be on sale in any user shops. (The one that is in trades at the moment (the first for ages) is asking for other referral stickers or referral points for it, so basically unbuyable.) I expect there's the same problem for people who collect other items.

Exclusive items are a pretty great reward, but why do they have to be collection items? Not that I'm under any illusions that I'll ever be able to finish my sticker collection regardless, but that 15 point sticker in there is just... not going to happen. Ever.

I referred 4 people and I didn't received any points at all for them, even though I know they completed the necessary categories (10,000 sP and a pet). It's a bit aggravating.

I actually have 2 referrals in the years I've been on Subeta, 1 is my sis in law who isn't really interested and doesn't come on much and the other was someone I don't even know, never found out who it was. Strange. Sure wish I could get more people interested.

Of my 4 years, 6 months, 2 weeks, 5 days on Subeta, I have one Referral to show for it. Wish I could get others to join, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen.

Do referrals actually help the site to grow? Out of the 15 people I referred only a couple decided to stay and play.. I mean, I asked my friends to join and they did it to do me a favour, but they were not interested in the first place, so I don't know how useful this is to the site.. I've been trying to recruit people from other pet sites FB pages, but even when they join (and they rarely do) they never stick around shrugs

you know... taking a look at this news update and how many people that responded here have very little friends that accepted invitations to join here. The prize items should be more reasonable to purchase. But I am sure there are many users here that have sent many invites and are not announcing how many joined.... more of a private issue. And that's fine, But what I'm getting at is the prizes available to those who have friends that joined should be more available to those who only have one to five friends that accepted for the prizes available to buy. I dunno, am I making any sense?

In my experience, referring people is so hard it wouldn't make a dent in the referral shop even if it stayed this way permanently. I've been here more than eight and a half years and only have four referral points. I'd have one more, but one of my friends in high school forgot my username when she was signing up, didn't think to ask me and signed up without it, and I didn't get anything at all. I'm with the other commenters on this one; anyone I know who would play already does.

Unfortunately we have to grow, and referrals are the easiest and best way to get new people on the site, and we have to have a carrot to get people to do it. Exclusive items is a pretty good carrot :) You can buy these items from other users!
