Subeautique: Siren Mandarin

Do you have what it takes to pull off Subeautique designer Siren’s latest line?

Subeta players are so rude to artists, it's hilarious and a little bit sad how worked up they get over a bunch of pixels they don't even have to buy or look at if they don't want to.

clearly you are entirely blind. Everything I posted side by side looks like two/three different artists were told to draw the same thing, and just the colour or one thing here or there was different. Like, are you completely daft?

Okay, let's pick your posted items apart one by one then, shall we? Starting with the top two, they're both strap accessories. That's literally the ONLY thing they have in common. They're not the same color. They're not the same shape. They're not worn the same way. There is absolutely NOTHING identical about them, other than the concept of "oh look, straps."

The tanktops are in the same boat. They're all tanktops, and that's about all they share. They're all varying lengths and styles, and not one of them is identical to the other in any way.

I don't even know where to begin with the mouths. I guess we'll start with saying that none of them are even the same expression. You have a serious mouth, a grin, and whatever the last mouth is. They're all mouths, but so what? They're not identical, not even remotely.

Same with the eyes. The irises are all different colors. The shape of the eyes is different in all of them. They're all looking different ways. Just because they have additional makeup accents ≠ make them "identical" or lacking in originality.

I'm not the one who's blind, nor am I daft.

and you don't seem to grasp the concept I'm making. I was talking about your attitude, not your stance on the line. You can have opinions, the way you went about expressing your distaste was not constructive. At least in your recent post you made some suggestions. You can be unhappy with something and give a constructive criticism rather than just stating it is too similar and showing other vaguely similar items. When you just blatantly state something is "...so original...."(which is incredibly sarcastic, mean and NOT constructive) it seems like a slap on the face of the person who may have very well worked hard on that. I am really not about to start a flame war with you on a news post about a virtual fashion line. If you have any other comments you would like to make to me feel free to message me, I'd love to chat with you.

Surprise. I am on a different site too. Simple. It's called multitasking. Neat huh. Fine, to elaborate more, since you can't seem to grasp the concept I am trying to elaborate on without calling it whining... Halter belly top. Lipless white smirk. Flat shades. Blue bondage style straps. Over-exaggeratedly bright 2 toned makeup. These are all ideas that have already been used once or more in other Subeautique sets. Even the body suit is a costume concept that isn't new or different to the site. This has the feel of more of a summer set, than a Subeautique set. The only reason it seems to feel DIFFERENT or NEW, is because of the colour scheme. And of course blue and orange look great together, they're contrasting opposites, they're supposed to. But there are other aspects of that fish that could have made this so much more Subeautique-esque. Giant slitted eyes, open finned capes, shoulder pauldrons, wide flourishing shorts, A hat or hair accessory. Anything more GRAND and unique could have helped it feel like it belongs more with each other set in that particular store. It just feels like recently, many sets are "throw as many items as you can in two different colours together and we'll call it a set". And regardless of how many times people bring these things up, there's just more this-and-that items on the next set. Why wouldn't it get annoying after some time? So stop getting so personally offended if my IDEALS AREN'T THE SAME AS YOURS

, be mean all you want. I could care less. If this site takes up only 15 minutes of your day and you can feel good about complaining to these people who seem to work pretty hard to me then I guess that's just the type of person you are. You just keep complaining when you yourself provide no suggestion other than it needs to be "better". And if you call me a "stuck-up ass kisser", that's fine too. I call it being supportive. If you only spend 15 minutes a day on this site and fell the need to complain all the way, maybe you would be better off on a different site. Simple.

Again, didn't say completely identical. and clarified what I meant by it being the same concept. And I don't have to be thankful for the site. It takes up, what, 15 minutes of my day? But again, they're an artist with a job, and that job is to create. They SHOULD have a standard for that. God knows it doesn't always show in different sets or items released around the site sometimes. It seems most of the real good content submitted to the game is by other players who aren't even employed to the game otherwise. Why SHOULDN'T the main art of the site be raised to that standard? You wish to call me a lazy complainer? Fine, you're a stuck-up ass-kisser. Feel better now? But Subeautique is supposed to be the cream of the crop this side of the cash shop, and this set just doesn't live up to that. Simple.

I never said you had to PRAISE anyone. I said maybe you should just be thankful there is a site like this where you can play for free and enjoy what it has to offer. Subeautique is not a portion of this site where you have to inherently pay your OWN money to use it. Yes, it definitely seems as if you contribute to this site by paying for CSC, which I do the same, but this line isn't really a part of those extra "benefits" so to speak, so you really have no room to say it "doesn't live up to something I'd pay for" when you aren't forced to pay for it. Like geeze, I'm an artist too, but if I don't like something, I would try to at least be a bit more productive in my "criticism" as you call it (I call it lazy complaining) and maybe instead of say "...aaaaaaand it looks nearly identical to half the other subeautique items... really?" and then proceed to make a comparison to other items that DO NOT look completely identical (Vaguely similar yes? Identical? No.) you should just say something along the lines of, hmm this isn't really something I would purchase with my sP, maybe could you guys try doing something more like [insert suggestion here] because that is something I would enjoy. Really isn't that hard to be courteous. Sorry for the rant, I wasn't going to say anything to you prior, but your rudeness just takes the cake.

Late comment, but the colours of the cape are amazing and I can't wait to try to make an outfit around it. The shorts are also exactly what I've been looking for! The rest of the set is a bit of a miss for me but those items, and the lip scrub and belt snaps are fantastic.

Subeautique is about Different, Unique, Intense fashion. Sure it's all crazy colours, but the concepts for most of these items are getting tired. woo... another bright eyeshadow that looks similar to many other bright eyeshadows. Oh look, a one shoulder cape. But what's really DIFFERENT about this one? I say it looks nearly identical because it doesn't have items that seem DIFFERENT than each other line released so far. Why SHOULD I praise an artist when what they've submitted is part of their JOB and doesn't live up to something I'd pay for? I'm always happy to compliment work I like. I love to draw, myself. Of course I'm a hard critic. Don't get so defensive on something that doesn't live up to the Subeautique line standard when someone points it out. Simple.

The people hating on this line because it looks "identical" (psht really????) to the other sets are just being haters. I love the set it's awesome. I dint the orange/blue scheme and the artist was really on point. It saddens me that people are so picky here and can't just be appreciative of the hard work put in to these items.

Might need an extra copy of the booty shorts just for the item art.. if you.. know what I'm sayin' (¬ε¬ )

I figured a set made after one of my favorite fish would be a lot more appealing to me. Different strokes for different folks then.

Also here is the fish, mandarin dragonet.

I stil believe that the idea of requiring to have the 9 gauges for the ThistleThief Will-U achievement is ridiculous. I don't mind, I have all nine in 9 different items but that's because of my wardrobe achievement goal.

I'm glad you had fun with it, but re-purchasing the same exact item over and over when i only NEED one for my collection isn't my idea of a good time. :P I get that achievements are supposed to be a challenge and all, i'm fine with that, but collecting just ONE of every SubQ item is a challenge. There's no reason the achievement for this particular set needs to be so much harder and more expensive than all the others. And i'm fine with the idea of transformable items in SubQ sets too, i just think the way the achievement was designed is very flawed. They should just pick one of the gauge colors to count for the achievement...if you have one, you effectively have them all.

I think they were just experimenting. It's the only set to have ever done something like that, and it honestly wasn't that hard to gather all the gauges. In fact, it was kinda fun. Not saying I wanna do it again, by any means, but it was still fun to try. :b

There are a lot of really interesting pieces here. I especially like the belt straps and the bodysuit, and the colors are awesome! I will happily collect every piece (eventually lol).

On the subject of ThistleThief Will-U, can we talk about how completely ridiculous it is that we need 9 copies of the same damn item to get the achievement? The gauges are transformable for the very reason that we AREN'T supposed to need 9 copies of them for our wardrobe, so why require such redundancy for the achievement?
