New Battle Quests

Have you been wanting to fight old and retired opponents that you can\'t find in the battle coliseum anymore? Nows your chance! Reischen has revamped the battle quests to be a gauntlet with each level getting harder than the last, with prizes only awarded at levels 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30.

Think you can hack it? Give it a try!

The one thing I don't like is only being able to skip 2 times.

I really like this change, thank you! I could only do 15 levels but it was done quickly with the added links and I got 7500 exp out of it, so I'm happy :)

I'm happy to see the revamp, but there are some things that I find to be ridiculous. There are 30 levels, supposedly an increasing level of difficulty each level, yet my first few always bounce around, 'difficulty'-wise. I made it to level 16 before I had to give up. Yesterday, it seemed to, as a rule, increase in difficulty with each quest, but today, I got to level 11 and my opponent was Mechalag. He has 4.5k HP. I scrape by, then he's my next opponent. I manage to defeat him a second time, and he is my third.

There should be something put in that actually goes by base stats and actually increases, not jumping several tiers. And then that opponent repeating 3 times.

There should be a quit option, and either not allowing you to continue, or resetting your count, and not giving xp bonuses or resetting the bonus count to 0 and requiring 5 wins to get it.

The new way is interesting. A quit option would be nice, even if you can't restart, I agree there. What may also be interesting is if you're given a retired challenger, you can continue to fight them as long as you don't move to the next level of the quests (though that may be wishful thinking). My actual suggestion is that we kind of keep both formats. You have your standard amount of challenges per day, but then you can do the "battle quest challenge". Once you've completed all your BQ's for the day. Remove receiving items from the challenge except at the end of each level, and keep the exp (perhaps lowering the amount given a bit).

Glad to see that the way exp is going to be handed out will be changed back tomorrow. Kinda sucks if you manage to get to 23 or 24 but not quite to the end. Maybe I'm alone in this, but I also think it would be nice if weapons as prizes would just go away (or only be given out at 5, 10, etc) and the prize after each win could be sp or a quest shop points. I got some R/SR items today, which is nice for fragging, but that's all they're good for. None of them would remotely help a battle pet and most are too cheap to make it worth selling them. idk, I was REALLY hoping to see item prizes removed from BQs and have them mirror the sort of revamp that the other quests got.

The new battle quest is O.K., and I'm glad that it'll be going back to the exp. reward after every fight mode tomorrow, but...

There needs to be a quit button. Right now, it's been restructured to resemble Item Hunt more than regular quests, but the big difference is that it's missing a quit button. I don't mind being bounced back to the beginning (or even being told that if I quit, then I'm out for the day), but getting stuck at a tough opponent like that and have it just lingering there...mocking you...Yeah, not good.

I'm not done yet but, I guess I wont have any use of a gold account anymore. BQs were the main reason why I would use them. But If everyone gets 30 challengers with a set amount of EXP, & no sP. bleh. Im on 26 right now. Chase, I still dont have him unlocked, Ive tried him twice, he's beaten me. I cant really be 1/2 assed to try to beat him at the moment. a quit button would be great. With the old BQs I could beat everyone minus the pos blue ball, which I would always quit. again, cant be 1/2 assed trying to beat him at the moment. So now if I get him, I'm done for the night. bleh & I dont know if its just me but even doing 25 of them last night took way longer than usual.

Definitely needs a quit option. Would be nice if the prizes were a little better, maybe getting special prizes for getting past level 5, 10, 15, etc.

i have found that if i do not go through the quest page to rechallenge the opponent directly after loosing, if i win the win does not count in the quest. mild headache but overall i love the new battle quests. i have found i can fight new opponents without realizing it. :)

I love this new tiered system, it pretty much guarantees that i'll be able to gain a certain amount of experience points before I have to bail out. The quests are also a lot less frustrating now because i'm no longer thrown opponent after opponent that I can't possibly fight yet. There are no words for how happy I am that I no longer have to see Prodigy three or four times in a row. :D

Got to level 25/30 before my pet can only tie / lose against the challenger, which is probably more than I did before as I always ended up with Prodigy multiple times in the previous format ;) The EXP seems higher than before, which is awesome :D Now if only there was a slight change in the dropped items, to something less junky every now and then, it'd be perfect :D

Bye Battle Quests! waves

Not really worth my time if there's no quit option (going by some of this morning's comments it hasn't been replaced, correct me if I'm wrong) especially with only tier three pets.

Honestly, there are things I really like about this change, and a few things I don't like. I like the preductable progression in difficulty, and the XP yield at the lower levels is MUCH better than it used to be. I'm not thrilled about the fact you only get XP every 5th battle (Tho, the XP you do get then is good). I also miss miss the small sP reward from each battle. Sure, it's only pocket change, but it did help defray the cost of training...

Well, I do like how we can automatically go to the challenger. That's very nice. And I made it to Level 10, which is totally awesome, fully did not expect to do that. That's where I stopped, because I'm not sure I could make it much higher.

I do wish there was a quit button. I really do! At Tier 4, I don't expect to get very high. I do like the bulk drop of EXP, so long as I can make it to 5 and 10 of course.

Tried it yesterday when first announced and again a bit this morning. Honestly it's kind of boring having to go through a bunch of weak opponents that I normally don't even bother with (except for pets with lower stats) since half my pets are tier 11. And no quit option to start a new quest, as with all the other quests, needs to be added.

Bringing back old opponents is nice, especially since there are some events I missed. I like increased payout at every 5 levels -- it mirrors the special loot for the first 5 wins in the BC. But a 'quit' button would be nice, and small payouts for the in-between levels would also be nice, in case one flubs up at the 5th/10th/... levels.

I like the concept. gives us a chance to fight retired challangers and all but there are a few issues...

  1. there is no quit option
  2. at tier 12 I usually skip the low level challengers, that is no longer an option...
  3. when you lose and challenge the challenger again it counts as a normal BD fight not a battle quest fight
  4. you have to go through all five levels to get exp. that's acceptable until you reach lv 25, not many can finish those you know...
  5. if the battle quests are going to get harder the prizes should reflect that too. a nice drop now and then would be appreciated!

I was never a big fan of battle quests - because of the prices (I never looked so much at the exp^^) - and now... No exp and a price worth 1sp for a hard opponent :/ But I like that you revamp them though there are same things to change like mentioned in all other comments.

As a person with low-lvl pets I like that we are given more EXP now. 1500 for level 5 is quite nice. But what I don't like is that we can't skip the opponent. I mean, there are a lot of different opponents of the same difficulty, but your pet can beat one and lose to another.

Glitches: If you click battle again, it's a normal battle and not a BQ battle

I don't like:

  1. that you have to go through all the weak opponents. On days where i have little time it's basically not worth trying because the good opponents are in the back
  2. only getting xp every 5 levels. So if i beat 4 and lose on level 5 I get nothing. While i did beat those 4 opponents
  3. It's time for you to face Sandragon! Click here to challenge them! Game over. While in the past I could just skip him
  4. I want to be able to click the pet again to be taken to battle instead of a 1 word link that is hardly visible.

This was the only way I trained. I'm saving money so i don't train or boost. So all i did was using xp. Way to ruin battling for me.

The new system benefits people with low to mid tier pets. The exp being given out does not scale very well to the increase in difficulty so people with high tier pets kinda feel ripped off, from what I have read at least. For people with lower tier pets, they should be getting more exp than they used to even if they only complete the first 5 or 10 quests.

i don't totally mind the new system, i kinda like not getting prodigy/other hard people three times a day even though i know i can't beat them. plus 1000 XP after the first 5 is way more than we got for beating those tier challengers the old way. kinda wish the items weren't still random battle junk...

I agree with you . I got stuck with Maleria's Familiar at Level 26 and got defeated. I know I can't beat her so what's the use in trying again. The major problem I see is that there should be something where Reischen either lets you quit that quest after trying it and failing or he tells you that you've bombed out on the remainder of the quests (which I think would be really unfair as there are others at that level that maybe my pet could beat).

Well made it to level 13 and Mechalag destroyed my battler. Sucks I didn't get exp for those 2 other fights, majorly. I liked being able to quit a quest if I knew I couldn't defeat who was thrown at me, the way it is now is... so time consuming and boring. I don't want to battle an opponent I know I can't defeat. No point in trying. I'm just stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I liked the old battle quests, sorry.

Okaaaay, no more battle quests for me...I did them for the EXP, but now, it seems impossible to get EXP with a pet that's not in the highest tiers. I liked it that I could make Battle Quests and push more stats by spending EXP than training. But this update is beyond awful. It takes YEARS to get a decent battle pet and this makes it just harder.

I don't know if I like the changes. You got rewards after every opponent you fought and you could choose whether or not you wanted to fight the opponent. Not to mention it got mixed up some quests being hard, some moderate and some easy. This way you don't have a choice. You don't get XP every time you win a battle. You need to wait until each five fought. I'm not liking this at all :(

For Example... Your opponent is Saggitarius!

quits quest

Your opponent is Cursed Irion!

completes quest

Your opponent is Mephysto!

completes quest

Your opponent is FeliBot 1.0.1!

quits quest

Your opponent is Slavam!

quits quest

Your opponent is Pete!

completes quest

Your opponent is Pete!

completes quest

Etc, etc...

I liked the fact that you could choose whether or not you wanted to fight an opponent over having no choice. I also liked that you were guaranteed an XP prize after each successful fight instead of every 5 fights. I just don't like the way this new system is at all :/

WHAT IF.

You could choose which range of 5 battles you wanted to battle in? Example, beginning pet owners could stick with the lower ranges. Middle of the road pets could stick in the middle. Higher pets could go to the top.

Anyone would be free to go up or down if they wanted a challenge/something easy.

BUT to keep it from being a cakewalk for anyone, you could make it so no one could choose the same range more than say, 3 times per day? That would encourage new battlers to challenge themselves, and curb the amounts of daily exp that more experienced battlers were getting. Which I think is what the basic goal of this was?

I took a chance and tried the new battle quests just for the fun of it. Thank you kind subeta friends for encouraging me to give this new system a try ^_^.

I was able to get to level 15 and complete it. Level 16 kicked my pets backside in two moves XD. You lost to The Hustler! Now I'm stuck on an opponent I can't beat so I'm done until the quests reset at midnight tomorrow. I like there is no time limit between battles. Not having a quit button is a bummer. It's like mara quests that have no quit button. You have to waste time waiting on the timer to wind down before you can do another quest. The system in great and I can tell a lot of thought and effort was put into this. Great job ^_^.

Will the challengers from the new battle quests be on the quest challenge page so we can battle them casually without the pressure of high end battling so we can at least practice a bit for the battle quests please ^_^.
