Quest Shop: Ghost Background

Alexander was kind enough to loan me some books from his personal library, but it seems like Iâ€™ve kept them too long; they seem to have become rather ghostly themselves! Â I donâ€™t suppose youâ€™d be interested in them? Â Well, if not youâ€™re still in luck - heâ€™s still got lots of more, er, normal books that heâ€™d be happy to share with you if youâ€™re not into ghosts. Â Just pop by our quest shops if youâ€™re interested!

The bookends are located in Alexander's shop, the stacked books are located in Quentin's shop.

They're amazing. I can only buy the Sturdy Bookends though, but can't find the Carelessly Stacked Books. Has it sold out?

These are amazing! I'm such a nerd for books irl, I love this! And I'm so happy to see a full background without the cutout! I hope all backgrounds are made like this from now on. It will make so many more options for human-less avs!

All the time I have been wondering, why backgrounds are not full but have the avatar cutout. It is so annoying. Great idea to finally change this policy!

One issue though: The two backgrounds are just a tiny bit offset from each other, so they look blurry when you use them together. It looks like maybe they were resized differently or something?

If there's anything that can be done to fix that, they'd be perfect.

One is a set of bookends. You don't read bookends, do you?XD Sure, it might seem weird that the Carelessly Stacked Books aren't readable, but it's a stack of books, not just one singular book. If it were a single book, it would possibly be different.

I'm confused, though...When I mouse-over the BG from Quentin's shop, you can see the ghostly HA right away. The one from Alexander is solid. Do you have to use both to get the effect?

I'm using the Beta Wardrobe to layer my base! :)

Also -- the books that are currently readable and wearable on site are old. Very old. If we went back and made any book that isn't currently readable readable, we'd be messing with a lot of old plot prizes and what not.

Andrea, There are actually quite a few readable books that are also wearable backgrounds. My memory is not good but I'm sure that if you ask most ppl here they can tell you which books are both readable as well as wearable.

Yeah, I could only find one of those in Quentin's shop??? Is it one of those items that can be switched back and forth, I wonder?

PS: I've never understood why things that are readable can't be wearable and visa versa when minions can be food/read, and food can be worn/read/minions. I understand minions not being wearable because there's a ton and if you make one wearable people will want them all wearable.

Books, actually no I do understand I guess? Because if one wearable not-book is made readable people will want them. ALL readable and many if the wearable not-books are plot prizes and in event shops and the main item for at least two MCTs and god that's SUCH an expensive slippery slope and I'd kinda prefer if this stayed as-is.

Plus there's plenty of other things not-readable/non-wearable (tomes) that I'd prefer to see readable first.

Is your HA still visible on the solid BG or completely hidden?

I'm glad book-like wearables are being re-visited ti being made readable as there are a ton of food items that have that dual purpose :)

Also...YESSS!!!! SOLID BG WITH NO HA CUTOUT!!!!!! We SO need more of these on site!!!!

I still think it's kinda weird that edible wears are ok but readable ones are not, but whatevs. If we let this rule fall by the wayside I bet there'd be a wearable book as a rare plot prize or something and the userbase would promptly implode.

Either way I love this effect, I'm always for more creative backgrounds! great art! :)
