I was so nervous about this game that I put it off until today. It took me a minute, no joke.
Try using the spacebar once you get them super close, that way you can get away and hopefully land somewhere that'll force them to collide.
And I guess you could say "well they could just have made it so if you press both up and left you'd go to the upper left or something", and well, maybe, but a slip of the finger and you make 2 movements instead of one and screw yourself over since they only move when you move. It would sacrifice accuracy I guess.
Was able to beat it fairly quickly once I actually read the instructions lol.
You'd understand why not just use the arrow keys if you read one of the multiple comments explaining why. It's because you have to move diagonally. It's not up down left right, it's up upper left left lower left down lower right right upper right. So there's why. It makes sense. Y'all can complain it was bored or whatever but truly, the arrows make sense
And as soon as I complain, boom, I complete it. XD My strategy, get the ghosts to the corners as close as you can then teleport so you won't hit a ghost. Then it's a matter of rinsing and repeating, weasling your way from one side to another til the ghosts kill each other.

If I hadn't seen the suggestion to use the spacebar key I never would've completed this plot step.

I had to use the spacebar a LOT but I figured it out finally.
I personally don't understand why anyone would code two different versions of arrow pads but NOT INCLUDE ACTUAL ARROW PADS WTF SERIOUSLY
Have yall never played a PC game with WASD as your movement keys? It's easy, spend more than 5 minutes on it.

At first it was hard and then it was really easy. Just takes some getting used to and maybe some luck too :P

This game is extremely annoying.. And to those who asked why not use the arrow keys, if you used the arrow keys you wouldn't be able to move diagonally.
Though I can't seem to beat this no matter what I try. Not a fan.

Oh...there were diagonal up and down keys. Now it makes so much more sense why we used number/letter keys as opposed to arrow keys xD Oh well, I finished the minigame anyway. I've been liking the plot so far. I'm pretty interested to see how it unfolds.
Now this is a game I'd like to stick around. ^_^
I think that plot segment broke my brain.
I think it's both? When two ghosts run into each other, they both die and leave behind a little ectoplasm puddle. If any other ghosts run into that, they'll die too.
I think I should've read the instructions better lol. If I had used the spacebar I would've beat it sooner. xD
Wow, do I hate this game.
If I'd realized the snowflake looking thing is what eats the ghosts and not the ghosts themselves (as the directions suggest is the case) I might have saved myself so may failed gameplays.
"Crashing into each other" is not the same as "using a ghostbuster trap in the middle of the room".
I'd respectfully suggest editing the directions for clarity.

The character development is so awesome, although I must admit in my browser it seems to load Ian last so whenever I load up the manor he appears in a jumble of glitchy parts before loading the full picture. Spoookyyyy
