Maybe because I've only ever heard shortly used a duration of waiting in restaurants and tv shows between commercials, but I wouldn't qualify a week's worth of waiting as "shortly." This is just... I'm not too upset because it's clear you're releasing plot steps and stuff, but god damn. I was so looking forward to seeing the winners and everyone else and getting some ideas before Halloween.

They didn't mean 'in a few days'. They meant "We hope you'll forget about this...because...we somehow managed to eff it up." And there goes my chance at winning. Hahaha!

It took less time to pick the pumpkin, gut it, carve it, photograph and upload than to judge it... Anyway, still looking forward to seeing everyone's pumpkins!

So why would this say "shortly" which generally means within a few minutes or even hours, when they really meant "in a few days"

I never would've tried my hand at carving a pumpkin (albeit a fake one) without this contest, so thanks for that :) I second the appreciation for having achievements for entering, not necessarily winning. I still tried my best.

I painted mine because I suck at carving, and I wasn't too disappointed with it. Though with all the artists on the site, I doubt I'm of any competition, but it was fun. (crosses fingers for the heck of it) Since I couldn't really think of any good ideas, I can't wait to see everyone else came up with. :D

I wish I would have been able to carve a pumpkin. In Mexico 'Halloween pumpkins' are way too expensive.
