Holy cow! Thank you so much for your kind words about Sid, everyone - and about my other pets, too! I'm so happy to see Sid in the News (he even won during my favorite month!). ❤️

This is actually rather bittersweet for me, because Sid is my very last pet to have won Pet Spotlight; all of my little buggers are complete and now all of them have won. Goodness. ;o;

My sister and I rescued a baby opossum earlier this year. Glad to see them getting some love. :) Very cute pet and story!

Now that is such a heartwarming story, it actually made me feel bad about all the possums I've chased off the porch. I guess the moral is that even animals that steal catfood and look like giant mutated rats with mange deserve to be loved too.

I'm not going to lie, I SQUEALED the second I had seen an opossum pet win the spotlight. And then I read the story. And then I fell even deeper in love.

I LOVE this win. Sid is fantastic. I raised a little baby opossum I found in the woods, I mean it was REALLY tiny, like a mouse, eyes closed and all. He grew up in a purse I carried around, and I fed him on kitten milk replacer. He was such a sweet guy, never ever acted wild or rough in any way. He even became litter box trained, and slept in the bed with me. He was a wonderful pet, and I miss him.
