I'm for the CS boosters. It's easier for me to drop a few dollars from time to time and then supplement my pet's regular training than it is to earn the 2 million+ sP through shops/games/trades etc for the equivalent net gain.

Also - congrats to whoever slew the Hydragellos. I'm kicking myself now for dropping out of that battle to focus on BQ's for today despite it having a little under 3 million HP left.

Good lord with all the site lag it took 5 minutes just to get to do one battle. Then after the page finally loads it tells me error been inactive for over 5 minutes and automatically boots me out of the battle and kept my battle pet for awhile. What in the world was that about XD. I finally got my pet unstuck after having to wait an additional few minutes. Not all battles are going to be like that are they? Congrats to those who got to finish the battle a few moments ago ^_^.

I'm a little disappointed 'cuz I mostly make money off of selling boosters I get from quests and, oddly for me, nobody has purchased a single one overnight. Maybe I just autopriced at a bad time, but I'm a little apprehensive about the damage this could do to the user economy if this were enacted long-term. As it is, I take the SP I get from selling boosters and use it on high-priced items, so it continues to circulate. The booster market has always brought in a reliably huge cash flow for me. Without booster-derived income, I'd have less disposable income to use without getting cash involved, which is uncomfortably similar to how my Gaia account ended up a few years ago.

I'm really comforted by the fact that these are only short-term release items, and I hope there's no drive to make them permanent. If somebody wants to spend two thousand real dollars to cap a pet, have at it this weekend, but long-term I kinda wonder what the effects of the change would be.

Actually, I think I got it. When I try to steal something, hydra uses stronger weapons, so I cant use against him, and he does not heal I do damage with scroll and only 1 weapon

If I have $3 I can get a pound of apples, or I can buy $3 in potatoes and trade those for the apples. Either way money will buy you whatever you want in this game, and ANY game that's ever existed ever because without money shit doesn't exist.

There are boosters that're flat priced that'll get you the exact same shitty build either way. So yeah it is exactly the say toe-may-toe or toe-mah-toe it's still the same shit.

Being mad because Keith said he'd never want this on his site in an Ask video years ago is one thing-- or was, he had nothing to do with this apparently, but acting like a pot is better because it's not round like a kettle is well being the pot and kettle with subeta's typical backwards logic "Well this is a CD/vinyl so it's readable but something that says READ in the description isn't readable because reasons".

Was I the only one so excited about Hydragellos that I missed the part of the news post that talks about CS boosters? I don't know where I stand there though. There are highly valid arguments both for and against them.

Battling is a beyond acceptable money sink. I'm curious to see what happens to the richy richy battlers with the middle man cut out and no longer having that huge influx of sP into the system from CSC conversions.

Rock, I've been here 8 years, 10 on Neo and IDK on Gaia, I haven't been there in a long time. One of the things I HATE about neo is that NC is not transferable in anyway, so people IRL who can afford NC buy it and people can't are SOL. Where as here on Subeta, if I can't get CSC via paypal all the time I can save up SP and buy it. I LOVE THAT.

Having a CSC stat boost is no different than a CSC weapon or book or sticker etc. Each item benefits the end user in a specific manner that can't be passed on. (except clothing)

As for stuff Keith has said, things change. He said he wouldn't put referral prizes in other shops at all, but Block BB sticker got put in the crystal shop.

Frankly, I'd rather have a site like Subeta keep finding ways to make money besides just advertising, so we actually get to keep playing the site!

I'll try to respond to the main points I'm seeing:

Keith had nothing to do with these boosters. Purge and I were unaware of a comment he made in a video three years ago.

The "end of the month" thing is a coincidence -- we released these to coincide with the gelatin war. We only came up with the idea this week right after the war started, in fact.

If we only cared about money, we would have released separate HP and intelligence boosters, because those are the ones people want the most. That's not going to happen.

We know that there are many people buying CSC, selling it for SP, and spending that SP on boosters. This cuts out the middleman and ensures that the CSC leaves the game instead of being hoarded.

We will likely not have these boosters available year-round.

It would cost approximately $2200 to cap a pet using these boosters, and it wouldn't be a very good pet because str, def, speed and HP would be roughly even, which is not desirable (most people want their speed to stop at either 3667 or 4000, with def also being lower than speed and everything being much lower than HP). These boosters don't make it easy to get a good pet, and I doubt that many people will be buying high-level pets with just these.

What are people not getting about the absolute skeevy "unfair"ness of PAY TO WIN. Like, srsly, yes you can obviously get there without technically spending real money. But when you're given the opportunity for the work to be done for you simply by buying unlimited items immediately, it becomes an altogether different beast. Don't try to argue that it's "totally the same". I'm sorry, no. That's shitty logic and a totally crap way to argue your point of view.

But, ultimately, I see subeta's recent cs shit as a desperate cash-grab anyway. There are bills to be paid and paychecks to be cut (lol hello end of the month again what a coincidence). Personally, it doesn't really affect me unless you think large-scale subeta economy stuff.

MY POINT WAS that literally the site owner said "NEVER NEVER NEVER. NO WAY. COUNT ON THAT" and then ~~woah surprise~~ never doesn't actually mean never if there's a profit to be made.

Yeah really? This, the boosters in the cash shop, is NO different than the THREE MONTHS the Red Reign Scales were in the MC-- or the YEARSSS they were in there prior to finally being removed.

So that's 3 months of an unlimited amount (because as with MKBs it's not exactly hard to find someone willing to buy MC items for cost thanks to achievements) of boosters for str/def/spd for 3 straight months for a flat rate (or just about flat rate) of 3 million. Yeah sure there's no HP, but if someone is spending that much on boosters they probably have some exp coming in/ATing and they can just focus that on health.

Is anyone else experiencing lag during battling to the point where the battle you're in locks up and you can't get out of it without reloading the page? I tried to check two battle weapons and a battle scroll and the page jumped and when I clicked the button it said error you can only choose two weapons.
Somehow I must have checked a third weapon instead of the scroll when the page jumped and it locked me out of the battle. I had to leave the page and go back to it again to finish the battle XD. I'm having a lot of fun with this battle event. Thank you so much subeta for bringing this back again :).

Even questing is laggy for me tonight XD.

Since most stat boosters are selling for generally 2-50 million and each gives 1 or more stats an increase of 0-4 (in general), I think it would cost hundreds of millions to stat a pet up enough to be worthwhile, which is why I only use the training center.

I know I have spent almost 1000 us dollars on csc just to buy boosters and got my pet to 4k stats. But still need 4k health and 2k str.. So its expensive period and I paid about what Insane said each stat point costs.

It is unlikely that we will leave these boosters in the CS permanently. They may make appearances only during special events. We're monitoring how many sell.

I am curious about how much it would cost (in US dollars) to buy a capped pet using these boosters. Has anyone done the math?

I would guess because at least with buying it with sP, there will always be a certain number of boosters on the market to buy before they get too expensive or hard to find. Not sure with that reasoning now that Quentin's quests gives out Mage Amulets (if that even matters xD) and many more people are able to get Mage Amulets for Tomes. But with it being in the CSC, there is no limit to the number you can buy.

Heh, had a feeling it would have to heal up. Otherwise people in other time zones would never have a shot at fighting it. Kinda sucks that our damage seems to have been in vain, but I hope that everyone at least has a shot at it! My tier 6 only does about 600 damage (if it doesn't freaking block the attack), but I think I am close to 50k cumulative damage... so pretty proud of that. lol

You can't buy a "big" pet on Subeta unless you have tons of SPs to buy stat boosters and the desire to spend an insane amount to stat up a pet. He healed 100% and now we're starting over? Ugh. Tired and don't have time to spend all night long fighting the same battle over & over. Maybe I'll check back before going to bed later.

ROCK, how is this different from people buying CSC, selling it for SP, and buying boosters with that SP? You've always been able to buy yourself a big pet on Subeta. I can't say I like that -- I wish we could have a system where people battle for exp and raise their stats only with that, and that we could scrap boosters and the training center entirely -- but that's not possible without changing the entire system.

Oh dear, for the last 6 suicides - my pet can't survive a single hit - he simply outhealed any damage yet still kill my poor pet, basically wasting time and money. sigh It's ok that he is impossibly powerful, and I normally enjoy these group battles, but feeling even more worthless is not fun.

So I make nearly 200 points of damage and he heals between 500 and 1000 per turn (then kill me with a 6000+ hit)? This is going nowhere and I feel bad for healing him constantly.

Okay, I'm still very new, but what does it matter if there are boosters in the CS Shop? What exactly do they do? Really just wanna know what's going on. My pets are nowhere near ready to take on a challenger of that caliber, but the concept for it is very nice.

And as many others stated, the charms are A+, 10/10.

I dont battle and never have but I just wanted to say I really like the art for the creatures they look really cool. I think some of them would make great experiment pets.
