Oh my gosh I love EVERYTHING about the female set. Seriously that hair! That skirt! Those shoes! Really really pretty <3

(although I just noticed the skirt wrapped up in her hand :p don't quite get it, but it's easy to layer away)

I've seen more comments saying "idk why people are complaining" THAN PEOPLE ACTUALLY COMPLAINING. way to blow something up way more than what was necessary.

that being said, I don't like the lips, but I may just be thrown off by the pair of smaller eyes. I can see myself using everything else though!

These are flippin' awesome. They are beautifully done, seriously (the mirror even has reflections in it, my word the detail). I do personally have to agree that the lips are off as a bit, but I honestly think that they are just a tad narrow and a little too far to our left/the HA's right). Layering it over the , however, is beautiful. I love big, pouty lips (and Alyssa has made some of my favorites, Delish New being my top favorite). I honestly don't get the appeal of tiny little mouths... They creep me out personally.

VanellopeVonSchweetz, do not ever call Playboy porn. Ever. If you honestly think that a pinup (or a person in general) is porn simply because they are partly to fully nude, you need a nice big slap of reality. What IS closer to porn on here ? The (come now, the even shows someone sleeping in the woman's bed), the (STRIPPERS FOR FUCKS SAKE), the Giselle Kinkylove set (I don't even have to comment on this), and the multiple items that depict very phallic imagery, such as the )... OH, and let's not forget all of the items on the site that show butts ! Which I am guilty of... CoughCough And as DoomQueen said, let's not get started on that novelty pouch line, particularly that kilt.

First off I must say I LOVE these trunks to death! Both are definitely going on my "To Buy" list. I think the lips will work well with some cigarette wearables on site. However, I do think the mouth opening (not the actual red lips the mouth hole) is a teensy bit too big. The default Red Racer lips pull off the look a bit better.

Also, I enjoy that subeta is more adult than Neopets. This isn't a kids site. The romance novel trunk, playboy/playgirl trunk, and giselle kinkylove set are waaaay more racy. Let's not even get started on the Novelty Pouches .

I think everyone (or near everyone, anyway) knows what a pinup looks like. That said, I don't think pinup when I see those lips. I think her face resembles someone that has just sucked on a lemon. The lips could have been done a lot better. They're too big, and I think the pouty look could have been toned down just a hair and made into a cuter shape.

I like the pin up lip style but I do agree these are sort of a odd shape. I guess its just some peoples style and others not so much. But I freaking need that hair. Omg just yes. I also love how this always becomes a huge debate about right and wrong. Its a news post...people state their opinions. Its stupid when it gets cray :U

I don't think these are for me. There a bit too plain/real world. I'm more into the fantasy styles. However, thanks to some of the posts here I think I now get what in the world the lips are doing? Unfortunately all I'm ever going to see is the HA going, "durr, durr" before I can see the correct "look". :/

Forgot about Mae West...oops.

So, yeah probably her. My original thought initially wasn't even Marilyn so much as the pinup posters popular during the 1940s in general, though Marilyn had more to do with the left side being her and the first model in playboy being Marilyn Monroe.

Wow, my god people. Can we stop calling the lips ugly, or the worst comment I saw "blow up doll lips?" Some women have gorgeous full lips, and a little bit of red goes a long way. I am far more appalled by people having to say ugly things about lips. LIPS FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE. Than I am about the trunk being a playful homage to a major part of American culture. Just because it's not someone's cup of tea doesn't mean it wasn't and or still is a meaningful part of culture.

Plus, some of the most lauded writers in the 20th century wrote articles and stories for Playboy.

As far as the lips are concerned, I think they're spot on and damn sexy. While it's true that many of Marilyn's signature pout is usually a bit wider and with teeth showing, I get the feeling that Marilyn isn't the sole inspiration -- the artist is looking at other style icons and pinups of the day. ((link heavy paragraph here)) There are tons of vintage pinup images inspired by Marilyn with an open-mouth/no-teeth pout, and plenty which are of other pinup models. Hell, even Esquire has this pout on one of its famous covers. And that hairstyle? Spot on.

It's perfectly fine if the style of this trunk isn't your thing - the video game trunks weren't up my alley, and plenty of the SubQ pieces aren't home runs for me. But whichever artist is responsible for this trunk did a bang-up job of it -- the artist really captured the look they were going for here.

I'm pretty sure the artist was going for the Marilyn Monroe pout, it's just that without teeth, the pout looks kind of odd. However, with that said, I honestly don't know if teeth would of worked on the original,as most lips that have teeth in them, smiling wise, I personally don't like as they don't layer over the standard mouths well.

That said, I do like the trunk.. love the background on the Hef one and I like the vintage pin-up look of the female version.

Vonnie, I agree there. I love the lips. They say "Hey handsome, why don't you come see me sometime?" And Klassikal, Marilyn is a legend and her lips are beautiful but I like lips that are distinctive myself. There is a Marilyn trunk needed BADLY though. BADLY.

Klassikal, thank you for linking a Marilyn reference! Yes she has been photographed with her mouth open many many times. But NEVER without her teeth showing. That is my gripe. Without teeth showing (i.e. it's just a gray hole), the lips look unpractical and unrealistic.

Jazzy with no critique/feedback from users about stuff they don't like, how is the staff and artists supposed to continue making items? I don't think users should run in here screaming 'omg get the fugly crap out' or stuff along that lines, but expressing that they don't like seems reasonable to me.

If the staff releases stuff and only hears praise, it doesn't help them, especially if it results in tons more items that no one wants. I love big lips. These though don't look like it to me. They look like the weird duckface/squished, rather than the beautiful lips of Marilyn Monroe.

And I definitely wasn't offended by what you said, the ridiculous assumptions about people are a little ridiculous, but nowhere near offensive to me :)

LOL @ slut shaming comment XD

Just because someone complains about not liking the trunk doesn't mean they are a prude, it doesn't mean they are offended because it is reminiscent of Playboy. To me it just seems like another trunk were there are some amazing pieces (the female background and the top) and then pieces that just aren't as great. Those lips and hair are pretty disappointing, I just don't understand the way it curls and seems pinned in strange places.
