Featured Game: Mazes and Mahars!

Is it that time already? Today makes the final weekend of EPICon, and our final game release, an extra special blast from the past. No doubt some of you remember the playable demo of Mazes and Mahars that was available at EPICon 2010. Well, EPICon 2013 has another big announcement - unfortunately, production for Mazes and Mahars has been halted indefinitely, and the game likely won't be going into production.

JUST KIDDING! What kind of announcement would that make!? EPICon 2013, in partnership with our sponsor, Magicians of the Mesa, is proud to announce the full release of Mazes and Mahars!

What a way to end this year's convention! Be sure to collect your points from this much-anticipated game, as well as your bonus points from any of our previous games. You can earn 10 EPICon points for playing a single game of Mazes and Mahars (that's right, a single game), and an additional 10 bonus points for a win! Even better, for this last weekend you can play any combination of your favorite games to earn those 70 daily points. Knock yourself out!

If you're not too distracted by all of the glitzy foil cards, be sure to spare a vote for fellow con goers in the Cosplay Contest, but make sure you do so before the convention hall closes at midnight!

Once the weekend concludes, we'll be tallying the votes for the contest as well as all the EPICon points that you have collected from our games, and releasing some exciting prizes! Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming announcements.

How can we ever get a tie between the mahar and the maze for the achievement? i don't think that any configuration of attacks for that to happen is possible.

This game was lots of fun ... until I had the maze down to 3 life points with no guardian and attacked it directly for three turns in a row yet those life points never went down and I lost the game. Also really wishing both 'players' had the same number of cards. Still, despite the fact that it would benefit from some tweaks, this is a very fun game and I like playing it.

As someone who plays card games more then video games, this was really fun. Shame the lag was bad, but hey, that's why you play real card games. :D

Haha, what an epic win. 1hp remaining for the last three turns and I still managed to beat the maze. I'm so happy this game is back!

Plus, even if the page loading is a bit of a pain right now, it will be great during the upcoming event season when page views are a good thing.

I'm glad that the limit that we can play the games are now much higher instead of only 10. I though it didn't have a limit since it's showing "0" instead of the "0/10" points earned, but apparently the limit is at 127, since I've tried playing two different games after I reached 127 n both and they didn't count for the points.

Ok... my wrists, finger and shoulders are killing me thanks to trying to get 70 points per day. I don't normally play games that much and this has stretched my limits. So much time spent when I could have been restocking my shop and making some sp. So now I'm sore and getting poorer and you bring out a game that is totally incomprehensible to me that takes forever to play. I grew up in the '60s and '70s. When all these yugioh, pokemon card craze came out I was raising children so the whole thing is lost on me. Did I mention I'm exhausted from spending so much time playing these games on here every day? My family is threatening to disinherit me because every time they want me to do something it's "I only have 20 more games to play!" and such. Not to mention the two other Subeta players in my home couldn't get their games in because they prefer to play their games on my PC instead of their laptop. It was hardly ever available to them because I was busy trying to get my games in. Thank God y'all are finally having pity on a poor old arthritic lady and ending this! Only because I'm anxious for the prize shop have I even bothered. There was so much from the previous prize shop that I never got! Ok.. rant over. Now to go see if I can get my 70 points for today.

ahaha I understand how to play but it always seems like every time I get anywhere close to winning the computer heals fully and kills me. I also wish this game could have been made to not have to reload for every turn. It's also really slow and, to me, boring.

I don't think my score display is right. it's saying 10/10 on this game and I've only played it 5 times and lost 4 of those times. and my overall went to 70 even though I've only played 40 or so today.

I've never played this game before but it reminds me of Yugioh! I've never seen the show or played the game, but I saw my friends play it a few times... But somehow I manged to win the very first time and get the achievement for winning with 5hp or less? Sweet.
