More Library Quest Prizes

Hope you have a library card, because Alexander needs more help with his Library Quests! There are ten more new books to obtain exclusively, and these are going to be a bit more difficult to procure...

I am glad that there are new books, still haven't seen one. I am only getting the same two or three faerie books. No others since the first time the faerie books were released.

Grave Digger and Burning Chance vending machines both give out graveyard items that use to be in the graveyard shop. They should be helpful with books Alex asks for. Good luck with your quests ^_^.

I find even while vending Alex never asks for any of the books I may have in my inventory at any given time XD. He always asks me for things that are either R90+ or something costing millions :).

Will Alex ask for the new book rewards for his quests? Just asking in case anyone was thinking the same thing ^_^.

Graveyard books are horrendous prices because not many people seem to do Quentin's quests these days - holiday items are too expensive now and he gives out too much worthless junk. I've turned down so many Library quests because of Graveyard books such as Book of Demons I at nearly 73K in player shops even though it's R23.

The good news is that people seem to be mass vending from Blue Sky and there aren't too many vendable books from Book Nook/Balloon Hut/Seedlings that are crazy priced. In fact, I've even vended a few normal rarity books that were actually underpriced (underpriced to the point where they are priced for less on the shop search than they are in the shop itself). The problem now seems to lie in books from other shops and books r81+ (aka books that do not vend).

I'll try again tomorrow, Ariel, and see what happens. I thought it was odd that I'd been getting at least two fairytale books per set, and today was none.

I haven't touched the fairytales, so not to my knowledge.

So...I just did my Library quests, and I didn't even receive a SINGLE fairy tale book. Prior, I was getting one or two for a set of 17ish quests. Did the ratio change drastically again? Also...I didn't receive a SINGLE book as a reward. That seems a bit odd.

Not all of the things we're adding will be something you can (or should be able to) get on day one. I want to give each quest reason to do it beyond losing money or getting achievements. I want it to be worth your while if you do all of the reasonable quests regularly, which is the point of this. I'm trying to see how to make the books more reasonably priced as well, which is why I've been hunting for old ones and releasing them how I can (crystal, hustler, token shop, etc.) It's a living beast and we're working on it!

We're working on all the quests, Drayk. Gotta start somewhere, and much to my dismay, the artists can't just listen to my demands day after day, haha. There's a thread in suggestions for more ideas. I hate quests, too. Trying to figure out how to make them worthwhile and less of a drain.

It would be nice if other quests had these nice incentives, Library quests were already profitable before you added the previous books. Now they aren't.

While the new books are nice, I feel that the reason for why there is not any incentive to do quests is not because of the rewards, but rather because of the items the quests ask for being super inflated.

It seems the books would be less expensive to buy, once they are out for a while, than to do these ridiculous Library Quests. The books released a week or so ago are already down to under 10k - and like most people I spent over 700k doing as many quests as possible (within reason) to get a few. Lesson learned!

Ummmm, almost 2 mil for a book, just for a quest? I will pass as well.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Tucker

Not with the prices of books, I'll pass. I was already getting the same now worthless fairytale books and the super rares aren't even worth it because either they won't sell and deflate or are already deflated so much.

Personally I like how books have always kept their value,I can count on a profit from them because they aren't massively deflated like tons of other things on site.

I agree with dragonkyx. It's nice having an extra incentive to do Library quests but it would be even nicer if books weren't ridiculous prices because they don't restock as they should. As for these new books being harder to get hold of, does that mean harder than Darkside Fairy Tales which is 18.5 million in player shops?

We're working on getting all of the quests tinkered with and improved, this is just where we've started. Fear not! I'm going to be adding more achievements as well, they've just been acting up lately and I didn't want to contribute to that anymore if possible.

Ah, yes, yes, make the hard quests even harder by making more users spend more on them ! I love, love new books, I really do. But I usually have to quit the quests because he asks for things worth 1m + almost half of the time (just going through Shinwa's quests have taken me to almost the daily limit on many occasions).

Speaking of Shinwa, currently she only asks us to visit Pete (easy enough), the Wizard (even easier), Maleria (whose items are almost always inflated pretty badly), and the Library guy (whose items are so grossly inflated due to many factors). Could we extend this to the Geek, Cursed, Quentin, Toy, and maybe even Major Drills ? Those are all fairly easy (with the possible exception of Quintin, whose main problem is the prizes sucking more than a well seasoned porn star). This would also give us more incentive to do those quests more often and might help with some of the inflation.
