Was taken by so much surprise when it was Daryl, love the creativity with the name. Personally I think it is creative in the fact that it pays homage to one's favorite characters in a unique way. I think if Daryl was a subeta animal, he'd definitely be a bloodred Feli, who is ferocious, but has its cat moments of uncertainty.

I can tell you Daryl has not died yet and I finished season 3, if that is what you're worried about.

No, they don't make things more interesting and creative. In all honesty, they do exactly the opposite for me. You could argue that maybe a few human overlays were creative, but almost every single Spotlight pet being a dull, boring humanized pet is getting really old-hat. I'd really like to see some more straight out pet characters. ...Or at the very least something that's not human.
