Weekend Quests

Drunk Carl is the weekend quest! Do those quests for increased prizes and special rewards!

I just tested them - doesn't seem as if anybody without access to the quests loses out big time, anyway: 2 RARE items (which, granted, I got for free) netted me Black Electric Bass (common) AND 6,678sP. Super! Wonder, what he gives out, if he is not special. Library revisited.

If you don't have enough money, you can't do Saggi either?...

I don't mind Carl as the weekend quest, especially since I still need most of his quest achievements.

I ended up doing 36 quests (budget: 35k per quest) out of curiosity and got: 5 super rare 6 rare 7 normal 14 common 2 mundane 2 really common

So his weekend quests aren't terrible. Not as good as the wizard or Saggi, but not terrible. I lost about 330k, but that was mostly because I didn't bother to stock up on the items beforehand.

My only disappointment is that he never fell asleep. I was hoping he would fall asleep more often for the weekend quests.

Always looked forward to the Weekend Quests to make money and now I can't even get to this one. I don't feel like he should be in the rotation at all. :c

Even thought he's a lazy S.O.B. I don't mind doing his quests at all. I've gotten some good items from him lately.

I love Drunk Carl! I always do his quest because he never notices when I slip those roofies into his food and still gives me great items.

Anybody who does not have access is not missing out at all except for the achievement. So what if he falls asleep twice and gives you two nice items out of 40 quests? There's other ways of obtaining two nice items. lol I'll just wait and see what next week's will be. :)

*All quests under 50k... not that 38 quests cost me under 50k altogether.

Not fair ..I cant get in and to do the map it cost more then its worth:P

Completed: 38/40 (All that cost me under 50k)

Cost: 316k

Fell asleep: Once (Item worth: 110k)

No other items worth above 3k.

Verdict: Unlikely to be worth your sP/time. Only complete quests you RS the items for. &May your luck be better than my own!

Drunk Carl? Really? He needs to be totally taken OUT OF THE LINE.

I lost around 100k sP doing 27 of his quests. For items I bought from user shops, all were 15k or less. I had 2 items stocked in my inventory already, and restocked the others from the main shop.

He fell asleep 3 times, twice giving me items worth 50-60k, and once giving me an item worth 90k. All the others were below 3000.

So I would say he's not totally horrible, but what said is right: not really worth it unless you've stocked up already.

I find this was kinda a bad choice for weekend quest cuz there are lots of people like myself who can't do the quests. Hopefully we get something better next weekend.^-^'

tl;dr version: If you haven't stocked up on Rathskeller items already, don't bother. If you have the map and you don't go to the Galley whenever you get the chance, why aren't you? Start doing it and then you can have a chance to get a rare item or two from him. You have nothing to lose.

Okay, I won't address the fact that a lot of people can't access him. But seriously, I got two WL items from him, including something from All That Glitters, and another expensive one I should be able to sell. I didn't lose much sP because I go to the Galley constantly to get free Rathskeller items, and I also restock from there when I feel like it. If I lost any, it's because I decided to take a risk and buy a couple cheaper things from the shops.

You can't do Carl by buying items from the shops. You have to prepare ahead of time. I think this is perfectly fair and it's probably why he's on Omen Islands - if you got the map, you should have the wherewithal to learn how to do his quests. I definitely don't consider myself a major hoarder or restocker, but my vault is stuffed with the items he asks for.

For anyone who's saying that he doesn't give out better rewards: Have you played him on a non-weekend? He did fall asleep more for me, gave me a nice item even when he wasn't sleeping, and he also gave me 20k sP once, which is more than he usually gives out.

I'd actually rather do his quests than a lot of the revamped ones. Would I rather have Saggi or the Wizard? Sure. But he's not as awful as people make him out to be.

We need to have an event where some of the newer members have some hope of getting pieces of the map. Good payouts or not it's frustrating not even being able to even attempt the quests!

So I was curious, and did the quests (since the items are still cheaper this early in the first morning). The results for anyone considering doing them:

I skipped 2 quests that asked for 100k+ in items, so I did 28. I started out with about 825k, and ended with 681k. He fell asleep 1 quest, and gave me a Really Common item worth 100k (Graveyard Shop item, which is why the difference between price and rarity is so great) and 5k.

Among the other 27 items it gave me: 3 were Mundane 15 were Common 5 were Normal 4 were Rare (the most expensive of these cost 3k in usershops).

Don't think I'll do them tomorrow when most items go 10k+.

For those complaining about his being the WQ don't worry about it. I've done half of them and they are NOT paying out better prizes. I'm losing sP on the quests and getting crap prizes off him so no loss for y'all this time at least. :-/

Does anybody even do these on the weekends? Between the people who can't do them and the people who don't because his "special" rewards are anything but, I'd imagine only a handful of users even consider it.

I have access to Drunk Carl. But I think it's really... not nice... to have him selected as the Weekend Quest. I don't think he should even be in the running for it.

I myself am probably not going to do his quests. :c

I agree with many of the sentiments expressed here. Weekend quests are special and should be accessible for all subeta users. The saggi quests are only limited by the amount of sp a user has, but Drunk Carl requires a whole map to have access to the area. If I wanted to, I could pull all my sp to do a saggi quest, but I can't suddenly gain access to the omen islands place without already spending my sp to buy the map pieces.

Anwyll - you can't do the quests, if you click the link in the news piece here, you get the error monster.

Subeta - having a weekend quest that is inaccessible for many any time of year sucks, but right on Christmas when people want the sP? That sucks even more. You need to consider your users. Please.
