I had actually never read this book as a kid. I just discovered "Where the Wild Things Are" this year when I read it for a Child's Lit Class. Knowing this great author died, well it made me sad. Such a loss. :( R.I.P Maurice Sendak. Thank you Subeta for honouring such a talented author. ❤

The particular quote in the description becomes all the more incisive when read in the voice of a million keening children.

To who's idea it was to put this here today - thank you for reminding everybody of the man whos profound vagary and eccentricness has left a curiously large, amorphous pawprint on the hearts of so many people.

Oh and you used my fave line as the description! Love this. And I have to admit, even when she says it in the movie I get a little teary eyed. I think this is my second fave tribute item, after the Heath Ledger ones, of course. :)
