I think we need to completely halt the release of any and all r99 items. There are already way too many on the site, so there should be a good, long "r99 drought" if you will, for about a month, maybe even two, to stable out the economy and bring back their value. :)

o-o but how do you know that your items are r99? Doesn't admin decide that so that means admins will just have to make artists items lower rarity..so it has nothing to do with us right ?!

Which is exactly why I think R99's should be far rarer than they are.

We have a system at the moment, where R1-80 has very little difference, then R81-98 are a little rarer, and R99's are rarest, but not rare enough.

Does anyone know the relative figures for Neopets R99's rarity? What are the odds of them stocking?

BASICALLY.. I've had R99s and things (mainly from giveaways, being that I'm a SHODDY restocker XD), and like.. have ended up selling some of them for like... 20k... simply because people only need some of them for like, quests -- they don't actually want to buy them for the sake of having some pretty or scary looking item. Like.. I don't know. I just get all.. YAY, R99, and then I'm all.. 20k the richer.. o_O

I agree with you on that keith. If those are the figures. 40% is high. But at the same time diversity of the r99's also makes them rarer. as if you have 100 r99's in a shop and 4 r99's stock a day thats a 1/100 chance that it will be that r99. But I totally agree we should focus like 95-99% of normal items of 10-80 range rarity.

Yeah, I have one question though... what about the elixirs? Those are normally r80+, and there's usually one in a set that's rarity 98 or 99 (bloodred mostly). I've also seen a lot of elixirs restock, so I'll do my best and make some poo items for the Magic Box. So they'll restock less often.

I agree with both of you XD

We should release lots of cheaper items because we need them. 'Sets' of items are always good.

But at the same time, the more R99's we release the rarer individual R99's become. within reason. And at the moment, its ridiculous. So lets give it a break, see what happens and then go back to the old ways.

On a related note, I dont think we have the rarities quite right. I think with customs all being R95+ or whatever they are, we have a top heavy market. I personally think all R99's should be rebranded as R90-99, and R90's should restock as often as our current R99's, with the new R99's stocking maybe once, twice tops a week. As it stands, the current rare items, just arent that rare...

This would require a much more thorough breakdown of rarities though, and we'd probably have to do a price breakdown to match it.

Perhaps once I finish the items overhaul, it can be looked at then? (Since every item will have to be manually edited then anyway) (Also, I'll be back working on that once I get cable installed next week)

I dont think so Mogel. At the moment, there are 40% more R99's than any other item.

I think we should just nto release any for awhile, and release a lot of cheaper items.

Ill debate you on this actually falc. The more rarity 99's out there the harder it will be to get a individual r99. Granted there should be more regular 20+ r items up to r90 released. I also think we should have r99's thrown in there as well as especially in the weapon shop case people cannot now be sure of which r99 will stock when it stocks.. Which actually makes the r99 Rarer, If we had more common items then people could get more of other things but my thoughts on this is maybe make it a 10 to 1 ratio of release or maybe even a 5-1 for every 5 regular items released one r99 or for ever 10 released 1 r99
