If I had room, I'd get that "Ghostbusters" pet. :P But I don't, but I did pound two a long time ago, but both were adopted out, and I got one of my beauties there huggles Saix who was made for me and pounded a while back by a friend, and he's getting stronger every day.

I'd been pound surfing and seen that poor pet in there for AGES, so you finally took pity and adopted her? Well done that person!

My thoughts: Perhaps there could have been a temporary reduction in the plushies and wands and no more abandoning to the pound for a couple of days? Then those who could be adopted were, and the rest cleared. Just a thought.

On Dragon Cave, there was a "Wild Dragon" page, where dragons who were abandoned frolicked, but they lost their names and also because dragons were bred, it's a bit different to here. Anyway. It was nice to see your inbred or unwanted dragons go to a nice home.

As for our pets here, just think of them as "retired", playing in green valleys, talking about the "good old days", perhaps talking about the health issues of old age, and comparing notes...."Did you SEE what my owner called me? And someone adopted ANGELBUTT over ME? Bah. How long do you think it'll take before Dicks Dicks Dicks is here with us?"

The pet had pretty good battle stats, 500 intelligence, and a low id# it wasn't about the name, since she already had a name and a wand for it. That's why I feel bad for her.

and honestly, I enjoy pound surfing, so I'm sort of disappointed with this occurrence myself. Was there a legitimate reason as to why the pound needed to be cleared?

I think this should be done more often so it can clear space in the websites cache, which in return creates less lag for us :)

I feel SOOOOO bad for a friend of mine, they did sooo much saving yesterday in order to purchase a one week gold account today so they could adopt a certain pet from the pound, and as soon as they looked for the pet, they were all gone... wow... just... :C

It's days like these where I think back to adopting my Nightmare Keeto from the pound. That was already his color and species, but his name was "asdfghjklasdfghjkl". xD ...I renamed him to Asmodeus during a clearing within the same month. Part of me wonders if anyone else has done such things to pets that otherwise would have been deleted. ._o; Or if I'm just... oddly alone in this. xD I had a Nightmare Potion sitting in my vault at the time so I could have created one for so much less monies. Buuut. He's more special to me; a created pet simply would not have been. x3

I have to say I am rather glad about this. I mean last time I was in there there were still some from the first time I had been in there almost a year before. Thats just crazy. I think its because of all the god awful names so I am glad to see them gone.

I am really happy to have seen this happen; it was getting horribly crowded in there. I don't know much about the system, but I would imagine this can help with space here on the site and to help avoid some unnecessary lag. I think it would be a good idea to implement this more frequently, in fact, when things start to get hairy again. It looks like a little warning in advance may be appreciated by some users, though. c:

As for the folks feeling poorly about the pets getting "deleted" or "put to sleep", they /are/ only pixels. If there was a name you really wanted in there, now you can make it yourself. It's all good.

I am rather intrigued by the individuals who take the time and spend the money to adopt poorly-named pets and revamp them nicely with better names and some love. That's pretty neat.

Anyway, thanks for this, staff! Keep up the good work and constantly making Subeta a great place to be a part of!

How dramatic.. _ I swear some people say things just to get sympathy. As for the clearing. It's about time. I honestly believe that a pet that stays in the pound for a month or more should automatically be deleted. Reason why is because there are some in there that have the worst names and nobody wants to adopt a pet with %$#$EFGTY as a name, no matter the color. Also that it will keep the site from lagging or filling up the Adoption center making pet searches easier and less frustrating. Is there a code for it? Or is it even possible since the stores automatically restock. Maybe a bit of a tweak to the code and the pets in the adoption center have a cached timer. Just a thought.

But it is cool adopting badly-named pets from the pound and giving them neat personalities and everything. You can change their names, but I used to leave them the same...it was kind of quirky and fun.

I'd be more tempted to check the pound, when I get any new pet slots, if it didn't cost so much to change the species, color & name. Just can't afford that usually.
