I'm still laughing at the fact the trophy is still there honestly, wasn't the last winner that had something up... didn't it get removed along with the profile?

uh, i don;t mind actually if they took it away. i never had the link up to nominate her in the first place. and i honestly thought most people would know that i didn;t write that lol its pretty obvious that shes a fan pet :l i just forgot to put the authors name. theres 3mill down the drain :/

It was obviously a tribute pet, ad from the cache the quote was in quotation marks, no rip off at all.

"Am I the only one who feels kinda bad for the person who won?" Not at all. :( I would be so incredibly excited that my pet won the spotlight...and then I'd realize "Hey, what happened to her profile?" and...yeah, such quick transitions from incredible joy to severe disappointment would bother me.

I enjoy the fact that spotlight winners only get this many comments if there's drama.

The profile was quite nice-looking though. Wish there had been more to it, at least a TC or something... Shame they broke the rules.

I've seen other pets win without stories even, or just something copied from another internet site, some facts, or a definition.

So is this any different?

From klassikal's link it clearly shouldn't have won due to just the lack of TC/Minion alone.

I get that not everyone has read the books and plagarism can be hard to pick out, but I'm with others here wondering why the pet was even allowed into the queue when it clearly doesn't meet some of the other nom rules.

Just because not everyone knows a fandom does not mean it shouldn't be accepted. I agree with the choosing a new winner though... or taking more care with the submissions and accepted.

I think they shouldn't have accepted this pet in the first place. I know not everyone knows the book (or books?), but still..

- They didn't clear the TC and all of that, just the profile. This pet just didn't have items in it's TC and it didn't have a minion either.

Should have been caught before they won. :/ Honestly, if they got slapped with a rule violation I don't think they deserve to stay the winner. That's just me.

Kay. with this. I see why they would clear the profile. But why would you clear the TC/minion etc. ? If it was cleared for plagiarism? Seems sort of stupid. I'd rather keep the profile and maybe just take the time to clear the description/all text.

If they can add the credit to the author and the pet's full name than it's a beautifully laid out page. I read those books recently and the atmosphere of the pet's page is great in comparison =) I'd love to see some overlay art for this one.

I'm glad Klassikal linked to the google Cache version, because I love to see these. Love love love the hunger games. It's a bummer there was no credit to the author though. It might be all the papers I've had to write, but ALWAYS CITE YOUR SOURCES.

I'm glad to see a Celinox winning this, but it's so sad about the profile! They could have told the owner before he won, so that this didn't happen! I hope the profile gets fixed soon, I really want to see it! u__u

I have gotten a warning for a violation before, which was the pet's name on display wasn't exactly the same as what was on display (such as a nickname) and if I didn't fix it, it would have gotten cleared. Thankfully I was on at the time of the violation and so I answered the ticket and fixed it straight away. This actually could have been a name violation and the user simply wasn't around to fix it. Even if it was a matter of quoting the source of the story, that could have easily been fixed as well. I'm sure the reason the trophy was not removed is because if the user simply fixes the page to comply to the rules, they can keep the trophy. No need to take it away as long as they fix it. Granted, we should all know these rules beforehand so that this doesn't happen, but not everyone is so careful.

This pet could have been so much better. The hunger games is a series that deserves an amazing profile, overlay, treasure chest, original story written by a true fan, and a treasure chest that relates to the story. Not a quote and a flashy profile. :/

Well also, according to Klassikal's cache, the pet's name (as in the pet's ACTUAL name, not a character name) was nowhere on the profile - which is also a rule violation.

Personally, I don't think that copying stuff directly and crediting the creator alone is enough for winning. There should be something own (like drawings etc.)

I'm assuming it was cleared not because it was a direct quote from the book, but because the author+source wasn't credited ANYWHERE on the pet's profile. I'm sure it's generally okay to quote things, in the same way it's okay to make a fan pet and use official artwork, but you have to include the source for what you're using somewhere. It's not okay to make a fanpet and not give credit for the material and ideas you're using.
