It wasn’t a strange occurrence when the occasional weary adventurer stumbled, exhausted, into my wife’s tavern. We owned a simple little place, right in the middle of our little town located off the beaten path. If one wasn’t paying attention, they could easily overlook our fine establishment considering the only form of signage that we had was a rotting board leaning against an empty barrel outside with the word ‘Tavern’ roughly scratched into it. Actually, the poor piece of wood was fading fast and really only sported the letters ‘Tav n’, but the people of the town knew us so there was really no rush to fix it. Regardless of the less than flashy advertisement, we saw our fair share of travelers and adventurers seeking fame and fortune, though it wasn’t to be found here. We were a pit stop, and my wife and I were perfectly fine with that.
