Story Here

"Now, in a development that could transform how viral infections are treated, a team of researchers at MIT’s Lincoln Laboratory has designed a drug that can identify cells that have been infected by any type of virus, then kill those cells to terminate the infection."

I wonder if they've tested it on supposedly non-removable viruses such as HPV?

Well that sound way more interesting than publishing a disease that could lead to wiping out half the world's population.

Too good to be true. There are bound to be long term effects for using it, or something is going to happen with it.

They're all crazy. They're all crazy except you and me. Sometimes I have my doubts about you

I don't know why people are saying its too good to be true - penicillin, if discovered today would have the same type of claims and they would be true.

I just hope we've learned lessons from the current antibiotic issues and that this drug, when/if developed, will only be used in extreme cases. At least until different kinds are developed. If we only use this drug when people are at high risk of death or disability, then we can minimize the possibilities of viruses becoming resistant.
