The Stand by Stephen King. I get hooked, than lose track of time to pick it up again xD Urg!
I used to love Stephen King, but I never even tried to read The Stand 😅 I only watched the old miniseries.
I have so many books I need to read, but one I started and never finished is called Balloons at War, and it's literally that - how different kinds of balloons and airships have been used in wars throughout history. I'm especially fascinated by barrage balloons (and my pet Aerostat is one!), but there's lots of other kinds of war balloons. I really need to get back to reading it!
I have several books on my nightstand right now that I need to finish!
The first and the most likely to be completed soon is From First to Last by Damon Runyon. Runyon is my favorite author and this is one of the few collections of his short stories that I haven't read yet. This compilation is made up of the first stories he wrote, as well as his last ones. It's been really interesting reading his semi-biographical short stories about growing up in 1890s Colorado. I'm about halfway done with this book, but got distracted by a new video game.....
The other book I started is A Fortune to Share by Vash Young. This was a book that I was flipping through at the thrift store and I couldn't put it down. I read about a chapter when I got home, but again....video games.....
I started a habit of reading for a few hours two days a week, but that habit only lasted a few months. Maybe I'll try harder to make time for reading instead of mindlessly playing games.
Actually, The Stand is one of mine as well. This is going to sound odd, but I literally get some kind of weird illnesss every time I get to the one part! Also Insomnia, I've been reading that thing for years now! XD And Odd Thomas by... hmmm... Dean Koontz, I think.
