Why was it changed? I liked the old way much better. I don't like the new layout at all and the number of vends you select (I also find it messy). It's a little hard to understand. The previous vending was so much better. Select the machine and click.
Things are changing so much, and it no longer feels like Subeta.
I remember when we community polls to vote on things. It would be nice if polls can come back to see who votes to change or leave it the same.
i agree with you .
It's 6am here, I'm just wanting to vend in Celebration Gift to get a few foods for MInions (especially since the Crate feature there is still broken) and I'm greeted with whatever new mess of vending this is.
I'm sorry, but what's the point of changing things that don't need changing? If it's not broke, don't fix it.
hmmm i like the change personally. i can see why it might be confusing, it took me a few minutes to get it. but i really like the idea of a limited chance to vend high rarity items.
Oh, that's confusing and I don't like it at all. The new vend looks awful, cute idea but my first instinct was to try the gacha machine itself. The old ways were far more intuitive than this mess.

Exactly! I vend for minion food as well and the layout is messy. With all the changes, it's making me support the site less.
I don't vend, so I haven't seen these changes, but I wanted to echo the sentiment about it no longer feeling like Subeta. If games and activities are going to change so drastically, especially without community polling, I support a v.1 and v.2 for these games and activities until such polling can occur. Item Scramble was also changed, which I play daily, and I prefer the old, basic game. The one change I like is to the scratchcards, but I could do without the scratch mechanic which does not always work properly. At any rate, I hope there is a balance found for people who enjoy old (insert activity here) vs new (insert activity here.)

Hey folks! This one wasn't really meant to go out (it was feature flagged for just me, but I guess I removed it!) but since it did, I'll keep tweaking around it. I've got a lot of goals with changing pages like this, and a lot of it revolves around changing the loop of items around the site, and making major changes to how the economy works. That means taking big swings at the things that have been pumping out R60+ items with no abandon for 20 years, so I can finally get my arms around that problem.
When I make these changes, there won't be a v1/v2 split — they're meant to fundamentally change how items get into the economy, and running two versions in parallel makes it nearly impossible to measure impact or track what's actually working. So the changes are going to land as the new way things work, and I'll iterate from there based on what I see and what folks tell me.
I do hear that it feels like a lot is changing, and I want to be honest: things are changing, and they'll keep changing. I've got tens of thousands of posts of feedback I'm finally able to act on, and a lot of those changes are going to be uncomfortable in the short term even when they're the right call long term. What I'm looking for in threads like this is feedback on where we're going — what's working in the new direction, what isn't, what I'm missing. I'm not going to roll things back to how they were, but I genuinely do want to hear how to make where we're heading better. This is a great opportunity to tell me what items are missing as prizes or things that you wish the vending machines did that they don't.
This change had a ton of requests that people have been asking for over the years, the ability to ensure a good pull (for more tokens!) and being able to vend in bulk. Yeah, it adds some animations to make that happen, but these are things people have been asking for, for years.
If checking in every day isn't fun for you right now, I get it, and I'm sorry — that's a real thing and I don't want to brush it off. But I can't keep the site frozen, and "I don't like this specific change" isn't on its own a reason to undo it if the broader health of the economy depends on it.

I think the trapped minions is a great example. The feedback has built it over the course of a month into a (imo) great feature, with there still being people who say "I don't like this and want it to go back". It's usage is up over 400% since the revamp. People are feeding minions all day, throughout the day, and collecting those new achievements. Thousands of food items are rotating through the feature every day, giving them another avenue to be actually valuable on the site.
These are features that have been sitting without being touched for a very long time, and they're going to be touched now.

I have only request and I won't be upset if it can't be done but,
Can we have a way to turn off animations? (I've been enjoying the new minion feeding but that shaking actually gets to me and I have to leave the page after a bit. Last night every single one was shaking and, oof, that was a no go for me after a few seconds)
I don't mind the changes other than that. I find it very hard on my eyes and on all websites I either turn them off or things get blocked if I can. Otherwise I just stop using things.

Do you have /prefers-reduced-motion">prefers-reduced-motion enabled on your device? That article walks through how to do it for windows/android/macos/iPhone/etc, and we respect that value for our animations.
If you do have it turned on and still find the animations wobbly / uncomfortable, ping me again because then something is wrong!

If anything, I wish there was a way to implement things so that you could click the gacha machine OR the buttons at the bottom with appropriate alt text.
That'd be my suggestion, a happy medium of a sort, perhaps?

I love the mass pull option. I almost never did vending (except for when I'm hard core fragging) because it was so tedious, and that makes it a LOT easier. RIP my wiz tokens!!
Only nitpick (you knew I was going to have one lol) is the link to the other vending machines up top is broken. Points to https://subeta.net/vending.php
Ok, looking at it this afternoon, on a laptop vs mobile, it doesn't look as bad as it did. On mobile, the vending layout is way too small.
I can see where vending in bulk is useful, but honestly, it didn't take that long to tap and vend the previous method, even on mobile.
In terms of rarity, this morning I put in "High Roller" 15 tokens, and all I got was so that wasn't worth it.
The ability to do multiple pulls at once is HUGE for me! I basically stopped vending because the high amount of clicking would aggravate my chronic pain.
I like the concept of paying more for better odds, though I've definitely not tested it enough to have an opinion about the balance of it.
ETA - I gave Ocean Depths another try today and every single category (except Jackpot) gave me multiple Red Balls. I got 26 of them across all my vends! That seems like an error.
