Summary: When Healer records down what strain you have, it records before your 10th bite. For chosen strains that you need to pay more, that works perfectly fine since it won't be any other strain but it borks up random strains by recording the "incorrect" one. When this happens, VIP, Healer RESET, and visual changes of the base after the 10th bite will follow the "correct" strain.

Anecdotal experience: I tried getting new random strains on Kumos and Legacy wardrobe, both failed to record properly. I believe I had this glitch unknowingly on the onset of the event but chalked it up to other causes. My 2nd random infection was up to Stage 4 Boobitis (according to VIP, visual inspection, and the person was biting me for Boobitis). I reset and restored it to the latest one without looking at it, which was Stage 4 Barnankles. This is what prompted me to try really hard to get my wanted strains to work since I wanted to target the oldest strains first. All my paid-for/chosen strains are recorded perfectly in Healer without issue. Timeline of random strains: 25th feb: mole rat -> healer says Baker's Kiss 2nd March: boobitis -> healer says Barnankles 3rd March: foot rash -> healer says Hive Mind 3rd March round 2: foot rash -> healer says Queasea 3rd March round 3: boobitis -> healer says Yggdrakill screenshot I took mid-round 1/2: I was checking Healer throughout this testing period, and it always recorded a new strain for me before my 10th bite. I'm not 100% but I think it happens even before being bitten, so at 0/10 bites, it's recorded down.

Priority: Low priority fix ^^ because the final skin can be obtained. The risk is that you cannot use restores so any issues may cause permanent loss of progress. It might also make it harder for staff to verify the correct strain you were gunning for. I'm lucky in that I don't have most skins, but others may get an incorrect strain that they already have before.

I'm having this issue now! Here's my sitch:

I've been playing catch-up with a bunch of zombie skins I'd previously opted not to obtain. To save sP, I pick the random option and then immediately run to a biting directory to ping for the bites I want. (Hasn't failed me yet! PUNCHES HOLE THROUGH NEAREST WOODEN SURFACE)

I'm currently progessing through Lobster Face--or, at least, I should be. As far as I can see, I've been stuck at stage 3 since hours before the site went offline. I progressed 1 - 3 just as expected before that (like, a dayish).

The healer previously got me restarted on another "random" strain, no issue. This time, though, she's offering me four different strains. Lobster Face (Natural, Earthy) is NOT one of them.

EDIT: she offers me Classic; Vein; Romantic, Flushed; and Light, Jagged. I already have each of these skins.

I've been using Firefox on Android.

Not yet. I'll give it until tomorrow; if I'm still stuck and unable to get unstuck by the Healer, then I'll use the nuclear option and try again.
