Sorry, again... we've been asking for a more condensed layout like on Subeta over and over. I still need to scroll down on the quest page to find the "start quest" button!
"📜 The Old Wizard - The Old Wizard Time Limit: 30 min"
Yeah - one time is enough, I know I went to the Wizard, anyway. Why is the Wiz'pic (with the reputation info), which has more than enough space to fit all the writing in, not right there? including: x quests remaining today
"🎲 Start a quest to begin your daily run and earn stackable bonuses!"
This might be necessary, if the run goes life, but doesn't need so much space/such a large field. Right now it's completely unnecessary. I know, that I'm here for questinhg...
"Why, hello, hello. Do come in, why don't you? I'm very glad to see you. I loathe to admit it, but I am now rather advanced in years and now I find that I no longer have the energy to gather the things that I need for my spells. If you would be kind enough to gather the items that I ask you for, I will reward you with a special token!
My tokens are the currency of choice for a few special shops so it's wise to keep them safe from rogues. Luckily for you, I offer a wizard exchange where you can leave them for safekeeping.
While they might not require tokens, I have quite a few items in my quest shop that you could purchase with QuestPoints!"
Much bigger font with 1 1/2 distance between lines why?!?! Could also go up next to the picture.
"The Old Wizard The Old Wizard Total Reputation: 1,214 Maximum Level Reached!"
move it to top field with Pic, don't repeat "The Old Wizard"
And bang we only need half the space.
In quest I find the "Quest started! Go collect the required items and return to complete the quest." unnecessary.
It's nice, that by the green border I can tell, that I have the item in my inventory - often times I get sidetracked and then have to check, whether I'd already bought the items or not. However, quest sometimes is slow in recognizing, I got the item.
Yet, if I happen to have the item in inventory already, I don't get the option to buy another copy and I no longer see the prices (how much money I spent).
Some additional quest page and user shop search layout feedback--
-For the small images on the quest homepage and the active quest header, the NPC images are "centered" rather than "focused" as it were--eg, the center of the image is what's shown, so the torso is visible but the NPC's head is cut off. Particularly noticeable with Wizard, Rumi, and Saggi.
-When searching items in the shops, item images are about half as wide as they are tall, squishing the item image.
-It's really hard to tell when you've bought an item in the user shop search--instead of getting the green "You have purchased 1 whatever" we have on legacy, it just does a little loading circle and the shop count goes down. I'd love a more visible way to see when I've bought something, so I'm not buying duplicates thinking the purchase hasn't gone through.
-When you're starting a new quest from the Quest Complete page, the button still shows up even when you've done all the quests for the day. It would be nicer if after completing the 5 daily quests for a NPC, the button greyed out or was replaced with a "You've completed all your quests!" or similar.
they/them/theirs, please.
Am I blind, or are we still missing the countdown on the quest page? It says, Time Limit: 30 min to complete the quest, however that never changes? Quests just run out and we are not aware, that so much time has passed.
Also it only dawned upon me just now, one reason, why the Kumos page is so bloated, yet empty - The new sidebar is much broader than on Subeta. Then the NPC shops have their own extra sidebar.
I had the 2 quest windows side by side today and took a closer look
All the quest info on Subeta including the big "Start Quest" button only needs 1/3 (1/2 if in split window) of the page! Once started, the items with their names underneath including shop search buttons, finish and quit quest buttons don't require more space, either. The new links
NPC Shop: 2,978sP
Your Vault: xxx available
User Shop: xxx sP
Search All Shops
would still fit easily on that page, there is plenty of room left. At the same time it is clear and not so awkwardly "busy" as Kumos. The payout info would also have plenty of room on the Subeta quest page.
Why does everything on Kumos need to take up so much space and therefore requires a lot of scrolling? By now the in quest page does fit into the window, yet it feels like travelling in a super full train wagon. And the Quest Giver's pic is out of view.
On Subeta the other quest links at the top have much bigger font, yet require less space.
There's 1 1/2 (?) lines space in every text. And too much distance between all the fields.
(day two of questing on the new site:) im gonna hijack this thread since i agree with all of the above, the layout really is a bit much, i do like the transparency of item worth vs quest rewards and the breakdown of prizes but the layout itself being stretched like that makes everything seem...boxy and a kind of a Lot? some tweaks could make it a bit more aesthetic. maybe the 'base reward' vs 'item value' info could be put under a read-more type of thing together with the 'how are rewards calculated'? cuz its great info but maybe not everyone is interested into the rewards breakdown. sp reward, items, bonuses being aligned to the center like on the legacy site would (to me) look a bit neater than the system currently in place.
As Boa mentioned above i agree that its kind of weird that staying on the quest page itself shows no countdown when the quest starts but the quest banner visible anywhere else on the site has two countdowns for some reason? next to the NPC pic on the left and another next to give up and complete buttons. maybe im only noticing cuz of the old habit of opening the shop links for items required in a new tab and then finishing the quest in the og quest tab. it is very nice that the new quest banner lets you complete the quest immediately, i do like that tho it'll need gettting used to 😅 maybe it could be a tad bigger, the item icons are very small and the NPC shop and user shop options as well.
Armor pointed it out but saying it again cuz it annoyed me: when you complete a quest and it takes you to the reward page it doesnt show you the remaining count of daily quests you still have. i keep clicking 'start new quest' on my 3rd completed one just cuz it gives the shiny green irresistable button despite me completing all 3. the count is shown before you start the first quest and during an active quest so it would make sense to show it on the reward page as well? or maybe gray out the 'start new quest' button or sth after the 3rd quest or give us a "you've completed all your daily quests" message, idk.
Also seconding Armor on the part about how it could be better to have a more visible confirmation when an item is bought to avoid buying doubles. "you've purchesed item name" like we have on legacy.
edit: 24th january: The 'buy' button when buying from user shops also moves, i guess depending on the the leght of the names of usershops? kind of annoying
Quests
Quests are a core part of item movement in Subeta. Complete tasks for NPCs to earn rewards like sP, items, and special currencies! Quest item requests and prizes change frequently, so check back often for new opportunities. Quests Today 4,089 Completed by all users Daily Average 584 Over the last 30 days Items Given 1,151,540 By NPCs through quests
Please put all of this at the bottom of the page! It needs scrolling again and is of no use or interest for questing per se!
