Wow, it's already December 😅! In addition to getting Luminaire set up (and our new advent calendar mechanism) I've been busy with bug fixes and changes across the Kumos codebase.

Account

• The inventory has gotten a much needed improvement - support for Locked Items. Now if you have locked an item (on Kumos or Legacy) it'll show up accurately.
• Any feature on the site that takes items will error if you try to get a locked item changed. This applies across all of Kumos - so your items are safe now!

Quests

• You won't notice any immediate changes, but there has been a lot of backend improvements to the quests that make it easier for me to track what is going out and how each quest is performing
• It's now much easier to add a new quest, and we can easily select a NPC, give it some flavor text, and tell it what kind of items we want it to take ("items under 5,000sP geared toward starting users") and it'll do the work of turning that into actual items
• One major change: quests will no longer ask for brand new items. We have to specifically tell it to update it's pool, where it'll pull in new items that it was focused on

More on these updates in a separate thread after I've had a few days to watch how the backend improvements are going

Forums

• Visual improvements to the thread and home page, reduced padding and margin significantly, moved some things around to make better use of the space

Hustler Announcements

• If the item is sold out, the hustler announcement is removed from the header (on Legacy and on Kumos) so you don't see it until a new item is chosen

I'd love to use Kumos more, but it's just too hardware intensive, which I feel is strange for a browser-based virtual pet site to be. I have an Intel UHD Graphics 600 and the drivers are updated, and it's simply not powerful enough so Kumos puts a strain on my computer, using 100% of its GPU.

To be clear that's GPU (graphics processing unit), not CPU (central processing unit). When I open Kumos, bam, 100%. However, when I scroll down so that the top bar with the navigation and everything is no longer visible on the screen, it drops significantly, hovering between 10%-40%. It temporarily spikes whenever I scroll the page however.

Something about Kumos changed over the summer, because it was not like this earlier this year when I used to do the quests on there. I don't do my quests there anymore as I have to restart my computer afterward because firefox won't stop lagging and crashing. Now I have to quickly get in and get out for anything that is being transferred there, like Melody now.

It's going to reach a point where I won't be able to play anymore once legacy is gone, so I'm going to keep posting this issue wherever and whenever I can. :( Kumos is the only website I use that gives me this kind of issue.

Can we please have the locked items seperated from the other inventory, just as now on legacy. Sorting choice is missing timeline. Why is the lock at bottom AND top of the items? Items are slightly bigger, name is tiny and cut off plus rarity is missing. I hope this will be changed as well. When are we getting hovers back? Game play is kind of impossible without it. I personally check rarity/NPC price vs. SS/account search/looks of wearables/ sort of constantly.

I can't imagine that I'm in the minority?

But is there anything I can do/inspect on my end to help you figure out what it is in the top/navigation that makes my computer want to explode?

Because now that you're talking about moving pet profiles to Kumos I'm starting to panic more than usual.

Can you click the arrow next to that and show me what is there?

If you get a chance can you fix mass read? It was such a great feature when it worked.

Clicking the dropdown arrow next to the firefox in the task manager processes just shows additional processes that firefox is using. (Not sure why it uses so many, as you can see in the screenshots I only have 1 window with 1 tab open).

More and more (regular) items display "item not found" when hovering over them for information. No hover opens.

01/05 The game still hasn't understood, that Buttwings is NOT restocking...
