Ads are covering at least 1/3 of the screen on mobile. This is happening every other page for me. This makes the site unusable for mobile users without a GA.

I raised a ticket about it middle of Feb. The original thread is from April. Apparently it was being flagged with Keith, but the issue is ongoing.

As it covers the bulk of the screen and all the navigation links, I have to zoom out to close the ad tab to be able to navigate round the site. It has made it totally unusable and forced me to get a GA to be able to still use the mobile version of the site. It sucks.

And might I add, functionality issues aside, its just wrong on so many levels to allow giant ads on peoples pet profiles. :/ I went to check how my memorial pet's profile looked on mobile and I was greeted by a huge ad tarnishing the page.

It feels insulting honestly.. Like, this is one of the few places users have had full control/customization over as a creativity thing. Now our work gets covered up by ads?

Like, I know the site needs income to keep running, but if I were a new member this would NOT encourage me to stay or get a gold account. TBH, I would just not bother and move along. I mean, it’s really irritating and I DO have a subscription, but my phone keeps logging me out every time a page refreshes and I can’t find a setting to make it not do that. Like it does it on other places like Ao3 as well, but that doesn’t have adds that make it so you physically can’t use the site. I wouldn’t care about the random logout issue I’m having so much, if this wasn’t making a huge pain in the ass.

I don’t know why this isn’t a priority when it’s disrupting site functionality and will definitely deter people from joining up and staying. I mean, I know people who only use mobile interfaces, can they even access the sign up page through this? Like you don’t need to get rid of the ads, but this is asinine.

You are spot on . As an old-hat member I know the workarounds and have the funds to get a GA in order to access the site. As a new member I’d run a mile.

I apologise for the tag . This has been going on since at least February and seems to only be getting worse. This issue will no doubt impact on revenue and user retention, making the site unusable for existing users. I’ve tried raising a ticket but got nowhere.

I just came here to create a thread about this issue, so it’s a relief to know I’m not the only one being driven insane with this. I haven’t used Subeta much recently because my GA expired and I can’t use the site because the ads interrupt play repeatedly and cause so much frustration,

Hello, is there any update to this? I am also facing the same issue. I don’t mind ads, but the whole “ad covering the whole screen” experience is making the usage of Subeta unpleasant. I am also on mobile. It’s okay on the forums since it uses the billboards, but any other page like news page or explore areas, quests and so on will have these ads. They also come back after collapsing these via clicking which makes the whole experience even more annoying.

[edit] This is still happening. Now I’m getting top and bottom ads that are blocking the screen. It makes the site impossible to use on mobile.

I cleared my phone's cache et all, then wanted to log back in, but my user name and password, the whole page almost immediately got blocked by an add each time I tried. Just as I was about to freak out (because very occasionally, when I'm away from home, I need to use my mobile for easy steps on Subeta, like put my pets back into training or clicks during events.), when I managed to to click "log in", probably only a wink of an eye, before the next add would have popped up.

I don't want to ever again be forced to log back in, if this persits, because I cannot.

These ads are hella annoying, so I'm glad people are talking about it here. They're very in-your-face, like a salesman who follows you around a store constantly asking if you would be interested in purchasing some [insert thing you don't need and is not even remotely what you're shopping for].

I'm surprised that no one here has pointed out that you can regain the functionality of the page by using the arrow in the lower left of the ad to re-minimize it. It's still very aggravating, for all of the reasons everyone has stated, but it's also not accurate to say that it renders the pages completely unusable.

Sometimes the arrow DOESN'T work 🤷 I tried for that ad and it wouldn't close
