I can't seem to find a potion so I was wondering how do you change your pet into the riftborn color? Sorry for the newbie question. I've never done this before. XD

If you go to the Galaxan Wastes and throw your pet into the Rift, you'll receive the RIftborn-colored version of that pet, if available. Otherwise, it may come back as one of the other RIft pets (IIRC).
Your pet will vanish from your account for a day or three. DO NOT PANIC! Your pet will come back changed. ^_^

If your pet isn't a rift color, it comes back as one of the two experiment rift pets. Subetalodge has pics here!
cheapest way is via the rift, if the species is available it will back that colorif its not it will come back as one of the rift experiements, other options are
does color without changing species or does species(rift etc a well iirc) without changing color
after your second yr onsite you can also get loyalty boxes which has a totem(among other totems) in it that is same as those potions
