i keep seeing people say stuff about shop layouts. ive seen it... counts fingers..... brought up three times in the past month...

is this true? because i thought there wasnt the option to make a shop layout

am i wrong?

Shop layouts are still a thing, though few people seem to use them. Go to the Edit Shop tab in your shop, and put your layout code in the Text/Description box. Subetalodge has some pre-mades available.

i believe you can input html/css into your shop description (in 'Edit Shop'), but tbh it's not something i see used too much these days! i suppose i don't usually go into a user shop at all unless i'm looking at an advertising board.

Definitely one of the lesser-known customizable things, I suspect. I'm a sucker for fancying up a shop now and then -- just to share an example, this is one I thought turned out nice. (I previously used it for my main shop, now the layout's just relegated to my personal 'cheap junk I'll deal with/frag later' emergency stash, lol)

I don't see anything when I click on your shop i just put one in my first science gallery, can you screenshot me how it looks? Is there a specific browser we need to use?

You have to enable them in your preferences.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the preferences setting. Though, the question did make me realize the background doesn't seem to be showing up on Chrome, lol.

Yeah, like I said it's just the background image that isn't. Not entirely sure why, off the top of my head -- might dig into the code later.
