I've noticed when using Subeta on mobile that it has a really nice dark mode - I asked on the Help and Questions board about this and got zero responses so I figured I'd check here to see if anybody knows how to do this through customCSS

I really like how the dark mode on mobile looks and was wondering if there's a simple way to darken the background on desktop as well? I know there is some prexisting customCSS to alter background colours but they get rid of the orange tones I like from the Autumn theme. What I'm after is moreso just a way to just darken the default site's background that persists between the themes, like what we can do on mobile. Can't seem to find any features relating to this in options or preferences so I'm assuming its a mobile exclusive.

Here's a pic of the mobile site's dark mode I'm talking about:

Any help appreciated, cheers!

i use dark mode in google chrome browser. it works on subeta and is mobile-style.

(of course, this is if you don't mind having dark mode on all your webpages. i don't remember exactly, but i googled how to do this. you go into : // flags and enable darken pages or something. it's not the same as customize chrome> appearance> dark)

the colors of my darkside theme are still appearing, so this might work for you and leave that autumn layout! :)

Oh huh! I didn't even think of using extensions! I'm using Firefox but was able to find one called "Dark Reader" which seems to do the trick, thank you so much for the suggestion!
