I've noticed that the pending CW page only loads about 20% of the time, but in the other 80% of cases, it will only show the spinning circle and will not load.

Is there some sort of trick to get the status to load consistently or do I just have to keep trying?

I would try clearing out your cache and seeing if that helps at all. If not, sometimes there are site issues at play.
