I want to win just to get the achievement but I don't feel like dropping tenths of millions in tickets xwx is there any strategy for winning?

There was a forum group/thread which organized people to buy tickets for a selected user until they won but it seems the lead organizer is inactive atm. ;n; Potion Lottery Organized Bombing I'd love to see it going again, though!

Otherwise you'll probably have to just buy a bunch of tickets for yourself on a day where there's not many tickets sold.

The strategy is to spend big bucks on tickets, unfortunately.

You should keep an eye on the ticket numbers, and select a day where not too many have been sold. You want to avoid competing with users going for the achievement, or sometimes friends will bomb a user for the day before their birthday, so that their cakes show on the front page during their birthday.

So if the ticket sales are over say, 20k tickets sold, I'd definitely avoid going on the day. I think usually people aim to have over 80-90% odds when going for the achievement.

That's not to say it's impossible to win by buying 1-2 tickets a day, I've won once from doing Drills quests, so I can't have bought more than a few single tickets, but I was very lucky. It depends on how patient you are.
