How do I get a background for my character? How can I change her facial features, such as the shape of her mouth?

I have a lot of questions about 'what are certain items for?' Is there a guide explaining about item catergories?

For example, are the mini pets just pets to attach to my pet? Or do they have other uses? Do I HAVE to feed and play with my pet or is there a hotel type place like with other pet sites?

1. you can find backgrounds by looking through the backgdrop layer in the wardrobe and selecting the "All Items" filter option. this will show you all backgrounds on the site, so you can look through them and then search for ones you like in the shop search to see if any are for sale. you might want to also select the "hide CWs" filter option if you only want to see official site items. (and in case you think "oh no! the backdrop made my avatar disappear!" no it didn't. just drag it behind the base layer.)

2. there is a tab in the wardrobe called "Base" where you can change the facial features, skintone, and other things like that. you can also remove the base facial features by clicking the little X next to them in the list of worn items on the left side of the screen. this is useful if you want to use items that give you facial features instead of the base options.

3. if you're ever unsure about an item, i recommend looking it up on subetalodge. that will give you a lot of information like where it comes from, if it does anything, etc.

4. minions can be attached to your pet so they can have a little pet of their own if you like; the only purpose this serves is keeping your pet happy without needing to play with toys, as well as your own personal satisfaction if you think a particular minion suits their personality or appearance. minions can also be added to your minion zoo, which you can either just use as a collection, or have them participate in minion battles.

5. the only consequence of not feeding or playing with your pet is that hungry pets can't battle. as mentioned, attaching a minion will keep a pet permanently happy, and checking them into the Lakeview Resort or the Rathskaller Inn[/u] will keep them fed for the duration of their stay.
