It's been going on for since the Masquerade. One of the first avatars I created for the event keeps showing up around the site instead of my current ones. It happens about 1 in 10 pageviews or refreshes. It's just this one and none of the others. I can swap to new ones just fine. Also, I can't see usernames when people post on forums.

I have this, too. The current avatar sometimes does show up, though. It's like it switches. Using firefox on windows, though it does it on my phone too (chrome on iOS).

I just had it happen to me, I thought this glitch was resolved as a whole ages ago. (Latest Chrome + Windows 11 + no relevant addons.)

@ Hexadecimate i'm seeing usernames just fine. have you been posting in the masqeurade event subforum? that's the one that hides usernames as part of the "masquerade" concept.

i also haven't had issues with my current HA showing up, but i haven't changed it in a while so maybe that's why. usually when it's a cache issue on the user end, you can right click your avatar, choose "open image in new tab," and then press ctrl + shift + R (cmd + shift + R on mac) to force a hard refresh. however this may be a cache issue on the site's end, which tends to happen around holidays and events, especially one as avatar-heavy as masquerade.

i've been having this problem too and i actually just came to the forums to ask about this very thing... i wonder if it has to do with all the image hosting issues the site's been having? i'm using firefox on the latest windows and i've cleared my cache and history a few times to no avail

Yeah, it's probably the dance forum that I was looking at. I'd been looking for new people to dance with and couldn't just hover over their username if they didn't have a link in their signature.

I've rebooted my pc and started a new session of firefox and it's still happening.

I believe it is a site wide problem 😢 I'm still seeing my old HA from when Masq started sigh I'm hoping they are working on getting it fixed 🤔

Any news on this issue? Is anyone trying to fix it or at least aware of it? I've been having this problem for at least two weeks now, and it's really annoying.

This is happening for me as well. My old avatar will appear on my user page sometimes, but it displays the items I'm wearing on my current avatar. I also have the avatar widget turned on on the sidebar and sometimes that will show my old avatar or just fail to load. It's happening with other people's HAs too. When I hover over usernames their HAs are often failing to load completely. And the comments on my profile actually have been showing people's old HAs that are different than what I can see on their user profile.

I have zero idea how anything works LOL but I do wonder if this is at all connected to the Masq forums, and if it may stop when the holiday forum "closes" for the year. Fingers crossed it's an easy fix like that!

In the meantime I guess we all just get to be reminded how cool our initial Masq HAs were? I guess they're not ready to leave the party xD

I've had the same problem. I use two computers, and one I'm always incognito. Issue persists on both, with computer 1 showing the Old Avatar and while incognito computer 2 showing Old Avatar and . This is after updating, clearing cache, starting new incognito sessions, changing avatars in various ways etc. And it's not all my old avatars--just 3. I change my outfit daily during Masquerade, and the ones stuck are the ones I wore ~4 days in, ~8 days in, and ~3 days after Masquerade ended. All the others don't appear. I've wondered if something on Subeta's end needs a cache cleared.

I'd like to point out now that the previous image that was showing up was replaced with this gray themed one.

It still just seems to be random. It'll swap to the gray one on my profile page and while browsing around the site. I've also noticed that it takes longer than usual to update a newly worn avatar on the site. I'd say that's been around since the Masquerade as well, but I didn't notice it until now.

I also had that bug which kept replacing avatar images in the wardrobe with one particular outfit and I ended up accidentally deleting a few.

Another edit. I also have issues with hovering over people's face and seeing a different avatar on their profile.

i believe one of the main places it's happening is in comments as well... if i have someone comment me twice in a row i get the old avatar and the new one?
