Hi all! I understand that the Vault keeps currencies and items safe but what is the Vault defending against? Are there random events where you can lose money or items?

There used to be, yeah, but not anymore. You also used to be able to collect interest on your vaulted sP. Now, the item vault is basically just a convenient spot to hold onto all your accumulated stuff. :)

If you use the Zapper, you can lose items in the inventory, so I place the good stuff in my vault.

I keep in my vault things like:

  1. Items I think are cool but don't have an immediate need for/have room for in my inventory,
  2. Holiday and retired items that are unique and/or may appreciate someday,
  3. Lifelike dolls that I can turn in at the carnival, put in my "Mr. Fusspot's Darling Collectibles" shop, or gift to others,
  4. Expensive (sometimes ludicrously expensive) items I've gotten during holidays or as prizes that I can gift to people when Luminaire comes around,
  5. Mage amulets, because there used to be a girl in the forums who bought them for CSC,
  6. Books that my pets have already read (or that I'm still collecting for them to read), so I can be ready to start any new pets off on the right foot with their education,
  7. Etc.

You can also create categories for your vaulted items to keep them organized.

Those are all great ideas, thank you! Also, good to know about the categories.

Thanks for the idea on books! I have been trying to think of a convenient way to track books my first pet has read vs my others.
