I didn't see any hockey-related threads, so I thought I'd make my own!

I've been a hockey fan for probably about 15 years now? My team is the Tampa Bay Lightning, and I'm glad we clinched the playoffs because it was looking pretty rough for a while there. πŸ˜… I usually only end up watching games when my husband is out of town, but I try to watch as much as I can during the playoffs and the finals.

Non-NHL talk also welcome of course! My brother plays beer league and I like going to watch him, but he has a newborn and a toddler right now so he's not currently playing.

Ahhh going to games is the best! The vibes and excitement are peak.

Also bless you for supporting the Coyotes, they are in a tough spot right now.

I wouldn't call myself a fan, exactly, but I have made an effort to learn about "sportpuck" because my partner is a BIG fan. We root for, uh, quite possibly the worst team in the League... ^^; (The Blue Jackets' management REALLY needs to get it together and stop getting rid of all of their good players.) Partner used to go to games semi-regularly, but we don't live near a pro team anymore. I've never been, though, the arena is WAY too many people for me to handle. Partner keeps up with our local collegiate teams now, and they're pretty good! I think the women's team went all the way to nationals this year, and the men's team was beaten near the end of regionals. Should look into tickets for that at some point, honestly, better than travel fare and ticket prices to see an NHL game. ('specially since the closest NHL team to us is a team we can't stand.)

Ohhh I hope the Blue Jackets figure it out. I remember a few years back when the Lightning faced them in round 1 of the playoffs and we got absolutely curbstomped by them. Like I couldn't even be mad, like they just played well and we just played like crap. πŸ˜…

Not living near a pro team is a little tough. I'm about an hour and a half away from Tampa, plus games are a little expensive, so I don't go often myself. I do try to catch some minor league games downtown though!

Oooh I actually kinda want to watch more women's hockey. Iirc my brother was saying that PWHL games stream free on Youtube, so I might be getting in on that action soon!

We're really hoping for the same! The Jackets used to be GREAT, but then Bobrovsky had his little fit to get traded off, and they've not kept good players since. Like, they always seem to have REALLY promising new blood, and then, unfathomably, they're traded off every year before they can get enough ice time to become experienced! It's really frustrating.

Heh, yeah, League game tickets are kind of crazy, not to mention the cost of lukewarm drinks. We used to be able to listen to the games on the radio, but I'm fairly sure that's out of the question now; that radio station doesn't let anyone stream online for free anymore.

Oh, I didn't know that about PWHL! I still have to ask my partner dumb questions about how hockey works (and I will probably never fully understand it, sports rules just don't make sense to me), but I rather enjoy watching women's hockey. Probably has something to do with how aggressively women seem to play. I think this would be a fun thing to do together, though, I just have to plan for it!

Big hockey fan here! My team is the Vancouver Canucks and it's been a wild ride experiencing their playoffs run. Mostly I just like watching hockey in general though since I grew up doing so (it's probably the most out of character trait I have lol).

Another Canucks fan here! A bit newer, since I'm moving to Vancouver at the end of the year and am looking forward to getting involved in what's there. I've liked hockey a bit my whole life but I'm paying extra attention now.

Too soon... too soon...shakes head Just kidding... The Yote's were the first team I ever watched live (no recollection of who they played). I was never in to hockey before. I was gifted box seats. It was amazing. The smell of the ice. the chill in the air... a nice change from the desert sun.... I was hooked. The arena was only a few miles from my house too. I was so mad when they moved... then... THIS. At least we keep the name.
Poor Doan... I was looking forward to seeing him play more as a Coyote.
