So I've been working on the gourmand achievement for some time now - obviously it's a lot harder than I'd hoped considering you have to wait to feed your pet after it's already eaten its max. Who else is/has working/worked on it and how long did it take you to complete if you did?! I wish there was a way to get it quicker LOL there's over 6000 foods my pet hasn't eaten yet! D:
It took me a little over one year and three months. Looking back at my posts, it took about 52 days to feed 1,000 items. Of course this will vary depending on how many you feed per day. Every hour on the hour your pet will get hungry, so try to stay on top of it every ten hours and you can really maximize your feeding. Good luck!

thank you! 10 hours is crazy LOL but i'll have to remember that!
You can also pay to make your pet hungry at the cleansing pools, but I'm too cheap for that! Lol. Yeah, you definitely have to commit. I got in the habit of feeding ten items as soon as I woke up each day, then I'd feed around ten more throughout the day. On average I fed 20 items per day.

As a long time member, it didn't quite work like that for me. To begin with there weren't that many tiers, they got added later. Nor did we have the cleansing pool. But there were still lots of times when I had more food than my pet could eat. So I made a "to be fed" section in my vault. I would collect food my gourmand hadn't eaten yet and stuff it all in my vault category. Then basically feed my pet whenever I thought about it. When I hit maximum tiers, I still kept feeding my gourmand, and in that way, when they added new tiers, I was generally already there and only needed to feed her once to "activate" the newest achievements.
Its a lot different because I never had to face the idea of feeding her 6000 food items! That seems almost undoable (LOL even though my gourmand has actually eaten 10492 foods). I just did it more slowly, over several years. And I continue to feed her, new items, new events, I still collect all the new foods.

Thank you for this! I was wondering about it and never had the focus to look it up or think about it. This is really going to help!
Thankyou for the reminder. My pet was right up there but I've dropped back a bit.
Princess has 1016 different foods left to go!
I wish I could go back in time..
It's not an easy achieve, that is for sure!
My first recommendation is a mighty large pain in the butt... buuuuut it's worth it. I created a WishList for gourmand. Easiest way is to make sure your standard WL that everything goes to is blank, and create a stand alone WL for gourmand. Then you go to your pet's foods eaten, and select "foods pet has not eaten". Then just add ALL OF THEM to your WL, and then you can bulk move those to the gourmand WL.
From there you have an easy way to sort the items by price. Get all of the cheap stuff out of the way. If you can check in to feed your pet a few times a day, great! I made sure when I was just starting and had TOOOOONS of foods left to go to always pay to refresh hunger @ the bath house pools once a day. If you just do your daily quests you will have enough. Also make sure to buy whatever items from special/quest shops in that shop versus paying sP from user shops.
When you get into the more expensive stuff (ike 15m+) it always helps to message people who are active and have the items in their shop and see if they will haggle.
I have been working on my gourmand pet for about 6 years and she has 10980 foods (101 uneaten) however due to RL events there have been times that I have been largely inactive for long periods. My least expensive item on my WL is 18m sP, so it's definitely slower going now, especially as I am not playing enough to generate much sP. My solution has been buying CSC when I can and selling 100 CSC cards as needed to fund.
I would say I got above 6k items in about 18 months with mostly casual playing.
Hit me up if you need any pointers!
Do the fed food items carry over with adopted pets?
My strategy is pretty similar to Aerosselys: I put all the uneaten food in a dedicated WL. Doing this makes it easier to see what Derfel hasn't eaten yet when browsing thru user/special shops. Every morning when i log in i buy about 20 uneaten foods, feed ten to my pet and lock the other ten on my inventory to feed throughout the day.
yes, they do (At least some of them?). Skellan is adopted and he came with a bunch of eaten foods.
