having recently acquired a new handheld device i have been reminded of just how vast the gameboy advance library was. I've been having a lot o fun revisiting the favorites of my young adulthood, like swordcraft story and golden sun, and began wondering what kind of games subetans spent the turn of the millennium playing on the go.

for bonus points, what kind of gba did you primarily play on?

oh, man, the hamtaro games(both on GBA and GBC) were surprisingly good. like, way more substance as what are basically mascot puzzle adventure games than you would ever expect from the source material. I've been playing ham-ham heartbreak a little bit since i got this handheld as well, tbh. quite fun.

I've ever really been into yu-gi-oh that much, tho. might have to give some of the games a try!

Mine three favorite GBA games have been:

Tetris Worlds - Best portable version IMO.

Pokémon pinball Ruby & Sapphire

And Monster Trucks - Tho graphically poor, it had good physics. The DS port sucked.

Mine favorite model is the original style in Glacier Blue, mine still play Tetris on the second example. Which mine friend gave as payment for helping in his Lamborghini project.

Old, and obsolete.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance! I had hundreds of hours on this game, and I had the cobalt blue GBA SP. I really wish they would add FFTA to the nintendo switch online subscription.

I have been enjoying revisiting Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap and the newly added Golden Sun games on my Switch.

OMG ham-ham heartbreak is my FAVORITE! I also had some genuine difficulty and in a world without easy-peasy googling as a child that was even harder. Couldn't always find a forum that had all the answers like I can now lol. I loved the ham-ham games too! The costumes were super cute!

I also played Kirby nightmare in dream land non-stop, and it had the BEST minigames ever IMO.

Lemme just whip out my GBA case here... c': Shaman King: Master of Spirits; I was GARBAGE at this game, but I adored it and threw myself at the brick walls of levels and boss fights repeatedly until I would win or eventually be so frustrated I'd quit for the day. Pokemon: Ruby Version; the first Pokemon game I had my own copy of and didn't have to borrow from my cousin to play in hours-long sprints with no saving. ^^; I Spy Challenger; is it a bit silly and childish? Yes. Do I still adore it anyway? Also yes. Metroid Fusion; this one isn't mine exactly, but my beau has put a ton of hours into this one and loves it, so it deserves a spot on the list. There was also a spy Barbie game (the actual name of which I can't remember, and my cartridge has gone mysteriously missing; probably stolen by a cousin) I had that was surprisingly fun and charming, considering the... checkered history of Barbie games. I also have a big ol' hoard of Game Boy Color and original Game Boy games that I play on the Advance. (The first Harry Potter game for the GBC was the only HP game truly worth playing, imo, but I no longer have my copy since the battery in the cartridge died and made saving impossible.) As for systems I used in the Advance line; my first was a glacier blue GBA (which I think my mom still has stored for me somewhere), and when the GBA SP came out, I got a red one to match the Pokemon: Ruby Version cartridge. I still have my SP, and it still works and my beau and I both play it, though the battery is a little dodgy and doesn't last long anymore.
