The rules of Sudoku are that every square has its own individual number in it, meaning no two numbers can be in the same square, yet there are two 4's in the upper right square? I believe this messed up my entire game and I can't really figure out how to solve it. Using the hints lead to a "No valid moves could be found" which is just odd, how is it possible to have no more valid moves on Sudoku?

Every row, column, and 3x3 box within the grid have to have all numbers 1 through 9 in them. There isn't a rule about not having the same number in the same position within a box
Then disregard my statement on that. This doesn't explain why the hints lead to no more valid moves in addition to why I wasn't able to finish my game, though.
The hint is wrong as I can see valid moves on your board. Were you not able to progress past this point? Despite the hint being wrong it should still be winnable
I'm not sure what's up with the hint, but the puzzle itself is definitely solvable. Maybe the hint button in general is just broken?
That is odd. I booted started a couple of games and the hint button worked fine. This was both for fresh games (I haven't put any numbers down) and games where I did fill in some of the numbers myself. It seems like the hint button hated your board in particular, which is odd because there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it.
Yeah I am not sure. I was reading up on past bug reports on this game and the hint button seems to have been doing this for quite a few years now. Hopefully they will fix this.
the hint button is kind of weird since it doesn't actually show you a correct move, it just shows you a move that is valid as of the current state of the board—which may well be ultimately incorrect, especially if it's early in the game and there's not much information filled out yet to narrow things down.
which... makes it extra weird that it would insist there are no valid moves when there clearly are, regardless of whether or not said move is accurate to the actual solution. it is all around a bit of a messy feature...
