I think it may be helpful to have a "are you sure?" before purchasing anything to avoid unintentional multiple purchases said items. Along with that showing, when applicable, whether or not you already have an object in a collection.

For example, say I want to purchase a particular Derpy Puppy Plushie but I already have it in my collection but don't remember it so it would be helpful to not only ask "Are you sure?" but to also show whether or not it is in my collection before I confirm my final selection.

I suggest this because I have needlessly purchased things and did not recall whether or not I bought it and sometimes the achievement page doesn't always readily show it said object is there or not and I am sure others have done this as well. Clicking 'Buy' without the option to confirm or change my mind doesn't help.

Just an idea. Thanks

I'm not in favour of more confirmations - we had so many at one point, that it was way too easy to just mindlessly click on "yes" without actually reading the confirmation popup thing!

If the site has to search to see if we have that particular Derpy Puppy Plushie when you go to purchase it, I can imagine that would increase the stress on the site and probably cause lag - that would be quite a task for it to check every time

The easiest way of checking would be through account search - if you're buying from shop search, just hover the item then select account search, then you can see if it's in your collection / vault / wherever, or not :)

Purchasing anything, really? Super expensive things, maybe, but anything, just no. People here so often buy multiples of items to frag or recycle or currency during events, or even just questing, if I had to confirm each time, I'd rage quit the site as a whole. How about you keep all your sP in vault and only take it out when you know you wanna buy?

I'd be fine with this for items say over a few mil sP or something but most items are so cheap comparatively it wouldn't be worth the extra clicks it would add. I restock and I already have to contend with the 5 second cooldown.

Well..maybe at least being able to do an account search before a purchase but I just am not sure I would want to waste money buying something that I already have or at least have the option to change my mind.

Cool idea but by the time I withdraw the funds then the item I am after would be gone. :D

To be honest this suggestion was not meant to anger anyone but to basically save someone from wasting sp on stuff that they either didn't want 'cuz they clicked on it by accident or because they just wanted to fulfill a collection or something.

How about this then...when hovering over a item in a shop (not a user shop) have that little thing show that lets you do a account search before a purchase if you want without having to go to a separate page to do a user shop search just so you can see if it is in your account? This way you can still purchase without any additional clicking for a confirmation? Is that a little more palatable?

To add and clarify -thanks to the information from PinkSapphire- ..in the Boutique you can hover over an item and it gives you the option to do an account search to see if you have the item so why not implement that function for all shops?

I don't know exactly but I always figured the reason why shops are the way they are is to make restocking a bit fairer for everyone. If you hover in shops you can see the item value making it very easy to quickly buy everything. Yes you can use shop search for that too but it's much slower and by then the item may be gone. I think that also applies to why you can't see wishlist items in main shops. It'd be too easy to wishlist all the expensive items so you know what to buy.

I have accidentally made purchases before many times... I now only keep a million sP on hand at any time to reduce the chance of accidental spending. It's not a concern I really have for shop items as you can always resell them or frag them for crystals to earn back the money you spent since most items are so cheap. Usually you can even earn a small profit!

I am NOT after mass buying. Perhaps I was not precise enough. All I am asking is for a feature that allows you to hover over ab item -like you can in the Boutique or user shop lists- and a little thingee shows up and allows you to search your account for said item before buying.

Again I am not after viewing my wishlist or mass buying or even competing...just putting the same feature you have for user shops (and Boutique for example) so one can see right away if the item they are looking at is in their possession.

I don't know..I don't know if I am even explaining myself well enough

I get what you mean. I wasn't talking about bulk purchases either. I mean that the hover window that comes up in other stores also has the shop prices and rarity so it could be used to abuse restocking.

Sorry not trying to be argumentative. I'm not opposed to an account search feature. But that other information from the hover would need to be removed. I only brought it up because you mentioned Subeautique which doesn't work like regular restocking shops so the price information is not as much of a concern, I think that's why that functions differently in these shops.

No to a verification pop-up. We already got rid of the annoying haggling step in main shops. I don't think we need to go back to making the main shops less streamlined to buy from.

As for the hover, showing the full hover in main shops has already been shot down repeatedly. This feels like a really niche issue IMO that doesn't warrant coding a new hover just to put an Account Search link in (especially since the site is running with a skeleton crew). Nothing that stocks in the main shops is expensive enough that it's a huge setback to buy a duplicate item accidentally. Just throw it into your shop (or the fragmentizer, or donate or delete it if you just really want to be rid of it for some reason). And opening a hover to account search something is probably just as fast as it would be to copy and paste the item name into the account search page instead (which you could do now)

I have to admit that I do not understand how that window can be used to abuse anything. If that was such a disastrous issue then why is it not removed? Myself I appreciate that same window when I do quests so I don't waste money buying something that I already have in my possession. Maybe that window doesn't have to show prices, just a description and then the 'check account' thingee .

Anyway..thanks for responding. :)

oh my goddd i forgot about the haggling... and the captchas... what a time that was O_o

as people have explained, the item hover being visible in main shops would be a problem because you can see things like rarity and user shop prices at a glance, allowing people to quickly check for and buy the most valuable items directly from the shop page. this is not how restocking is intended to work on subeta; if you want to make a habit of buying and reselling high-value items, you have to put in the work of learning & remembering which items in which shops are most valuable (or take the time to look them up in a separate tab). subeta is a game, and this is a game design decision staff has made as to how this aspect of the game should work.

and again, going to the trouble of creating a secondary item hover that just has the account search link—if such a thing is even feasible—seems like an awful lot of trouble for not much benefit.

A confirmation for expensive items would be nice. Or just let us hover over items in Main Shops, but I guess the reason that isn't allowed is due to the fact it'd make it way too easy for restockers to just grab up the valuables and run.
