That actually reminds me, a bunch of stuff went into the public domain this year.

  1. the remaining Oswald the Lucky Rabbit cartoons.
  2. Steamboat Willie ( Disney's first Mickey Mouse cartoon, released in 1928) and Plane Crazy, released in 1929.
  3. A.A. Milne's Winnie the Pooh
  4. the stage version of Peter Pan.

Disney still retains the copyright to the Steamboat Willie name( I believe there's a patent for trademarking the name that's been filed to the US copyright office recently) and any versions of Mickey after Steamboat Willie are still owned by Disney. They also have a trademark on Mickey images, logos, etc...and trademarks have no expiration date.
