Yarr ! Sadly Iunno know many good jokes (except for 20-year-old anthropology jokes that belong in academic journal introductions wheezechokesob), but my condolences for your loss, and I DO have life pro tips huhu

A couple of tips have helped me a lot over the past few months--and these are mostly what I call...survival mode tips?--Things to get you through the moment but shouldn't be long-term solutions by any means:

Keeping hydrated: The trick is keeping the least number of steps in between you and getting hydrated. For me, that means a) buying bottled water for convenience (this is more specific cos I am from Asia and always boil water before drinking--but lately boiling the kettle has been a struggle) and b) Pavlov training myself into drinking water whenever I see it available. I often don't realize I'm thirsty--or when I am thirsty, I feel no urge to do anything about it. So instead of making it about thirst, it's better to have a straight line of thought from "I see water > I drink the water.".

Eating: If you, like me, have been struggling with eating, then I found a great method is to treat myself like a baby again. Literally. I've been buying 6-packs of pouched baby food, Huel (a rather disgusting "full meal" drink), and energy bars and multivitamin supplements. It's not "healthy" by any means, but it really resolves the problems that can come with eating like...gosh. Cooking; spending time to eat when you have no appetite; having to deal with leftovers, etc. etc. At least for me, forcing myself to down a pouch of baby food because I know I need it is MUCH more instant and easier than cooking, and it's actually more nutritious than just making instant noodles or putting things in the fridge that then go off. Things like energy bars and baby food come prepackaged and preportioned, so there's no need to deal with leftovers. (Pouched baby food for 2+ years is better for taste, the actual 6-months-old mush is...questionable at best)

Also, multivitamins are amazing. Nodnod, super helpful if you're struggling with food/organizing food in this time.

Doing Laundry (and also dealing with personal hygiene): This is a big one. Particularly if you're struggling with doing laundry, using hand towels to dry off after a shower can be really helpful—they're smaller, easier to replace, and you're able to hand wash these towels quickly, maybe as part of the shower process.

For dealing with the actual laundry...oof. General tips all apply, but if you have a MOUNTAIN of laundry that's already piled up (it happens fr fr) and it just feels like way too much to deal with (that also happens fr fr), then--if you're still driving to places--it can be easier just to take everything to a laundromat where you can drop it off, and they'll deal with it for you.

Holidays are...depressing but I hope 2024 will be a good year for you!

These are general and basic pieces of advice that are good for mental health:

• Go outside for fresh air and sunshine
• Try to keep your living space clean and tidy
• Eat more whole foods
• Sleep and wake at similar times each day
• Do things to take your mind off your troubles like playing Subeta, reading, gaming, and watching tv/movies

Try to eat at least some fruit, something little at least, vitamins will help too, like someone else said: pouched food becomes a huge help in this cases. but is also important to drink water and be hydrated, sometimes it's difficult or you don't even want to do it (happens with food as well), but you gotta force yourself.
