Hi, all! I have searched around on the F.A.Q & various guides, but I haven't found an answer to the following question. I'm sorry if this has already been asked - I'm certain it has and my newbie-ness is showing.

The hover-text for "Make Active Pet" says to be careful when making a pet active because things can happen to it. I know there are things on the site that I can opt-in to to change my pet. I've done one already with my Riggs and Blobbert. Is it possible for a random event to change something about my active pet? I'm hoping not, but now I'm a little worried about transversing the site if so. I'd rather just make my active pet a base pet if that's the case.

Thank you!

You can get stat increase REs only for your active pet and random treasure slots for any pets. There aren't any negative REs anymore c:

No there is not. If I recall, there may have been in the past, but all those negative random events have been removed for years. There are some random POSITIVE events - most will add treasure slots (although, if I remember right, this one is not just for the active pet) or give stat bonuses.

The main danger currently, is starting pet modifying quests - like to change to Hydrus or Steamworks. Some of those quests will ask you which pet you want to change, others automatically make the change to the active pet and, personally, I can never remember which is which.

Some games or events will send your active pet to do things (like the pumpkin patch), but those are just for color and do nothing positive or negative to your pet.

Thank you both so much for explaining! I greatly appreciate it and definitely feel more at-ease now with my active pet.
