My name is Alex, I'm 33, masc/nonbinary, barista, parent to an awesome 5-year-old, and keeper of three RL cats. (The cats arguably share a single brain cell between them. Sometimes.)
I used to play Subeta a LONG time ago, and life kind of took over to the point I forgot all about it. A friend of mine recently tried to convince me to play That Other Petsite with them, and I lasted less than a week. It's clunky and badly coded, the games suck, and I hated feeling like I had to worry about getting banned for something stupid. Then I remembered Subeta existed!
(Don't worry, I made very sure my old account didn't exist any more before making a new one! I haven't played for many years, so I'm sure it got purged back when clearing inactive accounts was still a thing. My email hasn't changed, I got nothing when I tried to do a 'forgot password' reset, and I was able to register with that same email without issue. All my old pets are nowhere to be found either, even manually typing in what would now be their legacy names, so I'm very positive that old account is gone-gone.) <3
I was Growlithe way back then too, though! Idk if anyone here remembers me, since it's been so long. Some folks are still using my old (oldddd OMG) artwork for their pets though!

I'm thrilled to pieces to be back, I'm super excited that I'm back in time for Lumi, and I cannot wait to settle in and start doing some art commissions soon! I missed having some ever-changing pixels to obsess over!
[edit] Just kidding! I didn't expect Growlithe to be an available username when I joined, and I was very thrilled to find out we can change our usernames now! And even more thrilled to find out that the name I REALLY wanted (Skye) was available! Yayyy!

And haha thanks! What's funny is I really didn't think it'd be available! After confirming my old account was gone, I kind of assumed someone else would have snatched this name, so when I successfully grabbed it I had to do a double take!
[edit] I edited my first post too, but I found out we can change our usernames, and the name 'Skye', which is what I really wanted, was available, so Growlithe was a little short lived lol. To be fair though, I didn't think it would succeed when I first made my account, and I only tried it because that's what I used to go by! I'm much more thrilled to have the name Skye!
Welcome back! i'm also a long time old user. I guess i've used my account enough throughout the last decade for it not to be purged. My old username was sarahB67 but changed it. I hang around this site every once in awhile. I usually come back to gift my RL friend under their tree. It's a tradition we do every year. I hope you have an awesome time being back!

I feel like I never left! There's lots of new stuff, and some stuff changed, but I was really surprised how fast I just fell back into place here! (I'm also not afraid to click around and see what stuff does, so I figured out some newer things pretty darn fast)
My family is also out of work/school with Covid, so I've been playing every waking moment ^^'
Now I just gotta make it through the holidays IRL, and once those are over and I have a little more funding to goof off with, that Cash Shop is gonna fear me! 🤣 Custom wearables, here I come!
