is there a item to change a pet's gender?

Both can be found in the "All Year" tab of the Millionaire Center.

One of the zapping results can change your pet's gender. So if you've been zapping them, that could be the source of the change. If you are zapping, and plan on continuing, I suggest waiting to get a gender berry until your pet is finished zapping.
