I'm not sure I understand why was Cursed changed to Duality...

there were a couple news posts and a forum thread explaining it:

So if I understand correctly, it was changed so it won't be offensive to people with a disease? But duality is a known name for mental diseases like bipolar...And why not change Drunk Carl too, alcoholism is also a disease...hence my not really getting the change...Thanks for the links tho <3

Didn't we have a small comments discussion about stepping on toes a few months ago? This was a group of people saying we were stepping on their toes. I never realized the implications until they brought it up, but being called "cursed" does sound pretty depressing.

As for Drunk Carl - it has been brought up in the past and staff chose not to change it. As the child of an alcoholic I, myself, have some issues with the character and would like to see it changed a little. It doesn't make me uncomfortable enough to avoid the site or those quests, but I am disappointed it was not addressed.

I'm glad that the cursed quests/items were changed. It goes to show that even if I'm still bothered by Carl, I know its not malicious on the part of the site and that helps put it in a better perspective.

Oh, I know its not malicious, on the contrary, its a good thing/change, I was just wondering why not other issues as well, if we're being "politically correct"...all 7 dwarfs aside :D But as you said, it doesn't bother me as much as to not do his quests, other issues tho...eh... ;) I do realize we can't change everything or talk with a word-o-meter, nor re-write history, but I'm glad when I see a change where it can be done. Thanks for really clarifying for me :)
