Trying to get my bearings, I'm coming over from another website that I think is on it's way out. What's good here???

There's a lot of stuff to do here - it kind of depends on what sort of activities you enjoy doing on sites like this!

There's tons of pets available, and some have somewhat secretive ways of getting them instead of just giving them a potion. There's a pet zapper, for example, which can make your pet into rarer colors, change its gender or stats, or even give you an exclusive experimental species. Some of these experiments, like the Blob and Qrykee, have gone on to becoming full-fledged species with more color options. The site is also pretty generous with pet slots, so you can amass a big family of many different species/colors.

If you enjoy creative work, pets also have profiles that you can customize with HTML/CSS. You can give them their own personalities or stories--I recommend looking at the Pet Spotlight winners (which are announced in the news) to see how much flexibility you can have with designing their profiles. Pets also have treasure chests that you can put whatever items you want into!

If you're into collecting, there are literally thousands of items on the site. There are official plushie, beanbag, trading card, and pastry collections (and I might be forgetting others), but you can also read books or feed foods to one specific pet and have that sort of also count as a collection. Treasure chests can also be used for collecting, or you can also make a gallery to put your items in.

Related to both collecting and creativity, the human avatar system is one thing that particularly sets Subeta apart from other sites. You can customize your human avatar with whatever clothing items you buy, and there are custom wearables that are user-designed as well.

Making the in-game currency, sP, is necessary to grow your wardrobe, collections, or change your pet, if those are things that you want to do. Thankfully, the quests make it pretty easy to rack up sP and other currencies pretty quickly.

My first suggestion is to check out the achievement page. There's only some you'll be able to get now as a new player that later on may prove harder to get.

Poke around the site and see what things pull interest. There's indeed plenty to collect and achieve around the site.

If unsure where to start gaining access into the blue building (in centrolopis) may prove helpful in seeing what the site offers.

Pet names are bout unique here, however on your account you can only have one of a name.

Checking out the help forum and the introduction and welcome page are good too. Both of those have useful stickied topics to read on.
