Hey there! I am still on hiatus, but I popped back in and was greeted by three delightful spotlight rejections. I wanted to use that as a bit of an impulse to voice my concern on the current queue for the spotlight.

The three rejected pets have been in that queue for around two years. They went through several revisions and it was quite a lot of effort at that time, I believe! I don't have any ill feelings towards that, by no means. It just feels off that the site expected me to stick around for such a long time. Especially now, I don't really see myself returning.

I would love to throw in an idea. Since the current queue is obviously long, send the winners a little mail. Something to remind them of the site, and that their creativity is still valued despite their hiatus. I feel like it's a little more elegant.
