i noticed when i tried to load some older saved outfits, the salon hairs either don't load properly (missing some colors) or don't load at all. additionally, i can't even recover the missing colors, because they are "legacy hairs" so the colors i actually used on them are no longer visible in the salon. for example:

you can see the hair on this outfit has a purplish ombre effect; when i load it, any extra highlighting is gone. then on this outfit:

the hairs don't show up at all, and aren't even listed as legacy hairs but rather as the ID number of the two hairstyles i used; i'm not sure if this is an issue specific to using more than one hairstyle on a saved outfit, or if there's some other reason it does this. either way it's very frustrating to not be able to use my older saved outfits because they no longer have the hair data correctly attached.

Yeah that happens :( I don't know if it was previously reported actually, but that's been happening for years.

i was somewhat aware of the issues with legacy hairs losing color information, but i hadn't realized some hairs wouldn't load at all.

in both cases, it's really saddening because i'll never be able to exactly recreate those colors, so i can't really wear or play around with those outfits anymore. if i had any reason to think i shouldn't trust the saved outfit system to actually SAVE things, i would have gone back to screenshotting my hex codes like we did in the old days 😔

i really hope there's some way to recover that information down the line.

This! Thanks to Ryuu's info I could make the duplicated thumbnails show up correctly in the outfits library (which is missing my oldest outfits anyway). However, I'm usually bald - and have lost my tediously accomplished base colours in the salon - all showing up in brown. The one I'm wearing should have braids. Hair info on the saved avatar is "hair: 4" I have been living on my few wigs for years.
