I'm not even sure if this will be of much use to anyone but better safe than sorry I guess. This guide turned out too big. I have no self-control. Sorry. Please understand that this was written by a single person looking for excuses to procrastinate, it's quite incomplete and subjective, so please take everything here with a grain of salt.

The Basics
[/box] At Subeta's Main Shops you will find everything you need for that first step towards the many activities this land offers you - from not walking around buck naked to getting that first victory against Buttwing! It's also a place dreaded and avoided by many. Been there, done that, and that's why I decided to make this guide 🥰 (Just kidding, it's just in hopes Freayalise's news posts won't be as flooded with people complaining nonstop anymore).

Remember nothing beats good, old field work. This post won't make you a restocking master (specially because it's not even written by one), restocking will make you a restocking master.

➤ As a general rule, shops restock every 6 minutes, at "exactly" 00 seconds - They might restock a minute or two later though. ➤ Apocalyptic Apothecary and The Sable Smithy are exceptions, they restock less often and the interval between restocks isn't as predictable. ➤ Shops clear everyday at 9PM, or 10PM DST. [sub]Also known as the time I remember to quest ;_;[/sub] ➤ Items are organized from oldest to newest.

➤ Some shops contain only items that have a specific use (Beanbag, Food, Book etc.), some will have all sorts of items. Thus, all items at Plushie Parlor are plushies, but not all restockable plushies are found there - this is extra important if you're restocking for a collection, as we tend to get ourselves comfortable with a couple of shops and end up forgetting some others. When you notice, you're struggling to grab that last Guide to Constellations even though you already own three full Book Nooks.

➤ Rarities vary from 1-99 and are broken down like this:

1-20Really Common
21-30Mundane
31-50Common
51-65Normal
66-85Rare
86-99Super Rare
This affects both how often and how many of an item is restocked. For example, SR items will restock only a single copy, while Rares can restock up to 3 at once.

Tips and Stuff
[/box] [spoiler=]We never forget our first shop ❤️ At first, you will want to settle for a single shop (at most two small ones) and get yourself used to it and restocking as a whole. As time passes, if you find yourself enjoying restocking, you will naturally want to start challenging yourself, figuring out what your preferences are and restocking from more places. Of course, there are those more popular shops or that are considered more "newbie-friendly" but what matters is figuring out which shop "clicks" with you better. Are you working on that beanbag collection and just want to enjoy the thrill and pride of restocking that R99? Do you feel overwhelmed by big shops, or is it exciting to think there'll always be new items to discover there? You want to challenge yourself or just chill and feel good? The extra money is nice of course but restocking is just yet another activity available in Subeta, much like pets or battling - if you can't enjoy it, it's pointless doing it.

As always, SubetaLodge is your friend Use it to sort a shop's items by price and rarity before diving into it to get that initial idea of what's worth your time. The price of some items, especially Rares, tend to fluctuate a little, so even after you've got the hang of a shop, check SL from time to time, you might find a few hidden gems.

Little by little the bird builds its nest It feels really good when you restock a 100k+, even a 1m+ item. Not so much when it just sits in your shop forever. A good strategy is to buy cheaper items that have a high demand, most of said items are quest ones that range from 20 to 30k - I detail this an itsy bitsy more in the shop-specific section.

The Good, the Bad, and the Autopricer It goes without saying restocking and autopricing were made for each other, but never forget: Watch out for undercuts. Going through all that stuff sucks, I know, but one strategy I like is to divide your loot into different shops and set a minimum price per shop so you can easily filter and remove anything under said limit. Autoprice vs handprice is convenience vs safety, which one one prefers or what would be the perfect balance between them is something very personal. Also remember, if you seriously suspect someone is purposefully deflating items just to buy it all and resell for a higher price, file a ticket!

Less scrolling, more shopping Use these codes to remove or shrink the NPCs' images, respectively: /* remove all shopkeeper images / center a[href=""] img[src="//img.subeta.net/keeper_"] { display:none; } /* remove specific NPC images / img[src="URL"] { display:none; } / shrink all shopkeeper images / center a[href=""] img[src="//img.subeta.net/keeper_"] { max-width:200px; }

Restocked Now! Kinda! "It says 'Restocked Now!' but there isn't a single item in there, this holiday is ridiculous! >:(" is a mandatory complaint during Keel Hauliday. Bear in mind that that message lasts a full minute. That's a lot of time even if you're against a single user - for example, when I get distracted and refresh Book Nook 20+ seconds later I consider myself lucky if I'm able to grab anything good. Now apply this to first day of Keel Hauliday.

Restocked 5 minutes ago... Not! Things will start restocking at 00 seconds. They don't pop up all at once, and it will only switch to "Restocked Now!" after it's done with the batch. In other words, start looking for goodies as soon as the minute flips. Personally, I like to stay on the bottom of the page so I can "see" the amount of items changing, and that's when I start the hunt.

Embrace the void If you're usually online when shops clear, that's the best time to get to know a new shop, or to take a shot at those usually huge ones. According to myself, having a few screws loose might make restocking at such time strangely relaxing too.

Oldie but goldie The order of the items has two consequences - one more obvious and less appealing, one less obvious and more appealing: → Shiny, new, expensive items are all at the bottom of the shop -- however selling them for their shiny new price isn't always an easy task. → Older things get retired after a while (or used to, idk), however staff won't always retire items of higher rarities, or that are highly desired. Consequences? The top of the shops has a higher "concentration" of the good stuff, as staff has done us the favor of removing the trash for us. So aim for the top, kid!

Ctrl+F "1 in Stock" A strategy that seems almost too silly to work but it's the bestest thing ever in some situations. Not all items with a single copy will be really worth it but all items really worth it will have a single copy RSed (well, almost always), simple like that. Great when you're getting started on a new shop or to speed things up when stalking for just-restocked goodies.

Ctrl+Click To open the purchased item in a new tab so you don't lose your momentum. Extra useful during Freyalise.

Ctrl+#+Click (Credits: )

Being the number (i.e., position in the window) of the tab.

Can be used the same way as Ctrl+Click but with the bonus that you can also switch tabs with it. If you tend to stalk many shops at once, fully switching to this shortcut will further help keep your momentum.

Pay attention to the price Another thing that may seem silly but been there too so I decided to add it. In shops were almost all items cost around the same or whose item prices vary a lot we might end up buying something not as worth as the SS price leads us to believe. [/spoiler]

Tips and Stuff - Shop-specific
[/box] [spoiler=][box=#ECC5FB]
BATTLE
[/box] Maleria's shopping district. Thanks to her quests' somewhat small pool of items, there are many easy-to-grab items in this section that will sell for 20k+. Even if you don't plan on stalking these shops, it's still worth checking them from time to time for those quest goodies.

The Apocalyptic Apothecary
All Pylonics' rarity are on the 'Normal' range (51-64) but because they are pretty useful their prices are always inflated and they sell easily. Their prices rise even more during boss battles and the like. Although potions and boosters might be a little scary, the pylonics, very few amount of items and the even fewer worth ones make this shop a great option for starters. However, remember its restocking time isn't as predictable as most shops.

Spells Galore
Items here are used to make scrolls at the Secluded Shrine. Some are highly sought after and might require many copies of rare or even SR items, making the price of some items being above average for their rarity. I like to see this shop as an easier and bigger AA (and more fun too).

[box=#ECC5FB]

CLOTHING
[/box]
All That Glitters
Not THE most popular shop ever, which can be used to your advantage. Main drawbacks here are the price and that most items aren't highly desired. The magical word here is most. However, if you have a 30 Percent Discount Card, prices can drop to almost 20k, making this shop more appealing. It's small too, making it fairly easy. Just make sure to pay extra attention to their SS prices.

[box=#ECC5FB]

COLLECTIONS
[/box]
Trading Card Center
Wouldn't it be cool if SRs just dressed themselves in really flamboyant clothes and started dancing samba right in front of you? It sure would, wouldn't it... Great shop if you're new and feeling insecure, or if you just want to chill and feel good - it's already a small shop, and you'll need to memorise only a few items, so you can take your sweet time getting used to restocking while using those little show-offs to boost your confidence.

[box=#ECC5FB]

HOBBIES
[/box]
Philosopher's Store [item=Layer Card: Held][item=Alchemy Token: Plushie]
A small, "can't go wrong" shop that you might find completely empty sometimes. It's also an indirect quester shop, making this place pretty much heaven. All items here are used in The Alchove. Cinthia may ask for said items, making the cheaper ones fairly easy to sell (which is practically everything that isn't a wearable or book). To create anything, all you need is a token; for a complete list of possible combinations, see here.

[box=#ECC5FB]

PETS
[/box]
Book Nook
Aka Alexander's Nook. Because he only asks for books, most requests will be items from here. Similar to other quester shops as in you can find many items at 20-30k. However, being a rather competitive and popular shop, it's one of those you pretty much have to stalk, odds of finding something 3, 4 minutes later are very low. You won't be fighting for just a few valuables though, so although you're kinda stuck with this one strategy, it's not exactly a super hard shop to restock from.

[box=#ECC5FB]

SUBETA
[/box]
Cavern of Curios [item=Nimble White Art Print V.1]
I hate this shop so much Just a little adendum that all scarves transform into each other (of same pattern, ofc), making restocking them to resell kinda pointless. This is not true for the Art Prints though, those are safe.

[/spoiler]

[box=#CDF0EA]

Why are you buying clothes at the soup store?!
[/box] Because I can. A quick list of odd items at odd places. It's not complete though, I've only listed SR and Rares. The list was made based on SubetaLodge. Some items have changed its restocking location throughout the years so there might be one or two inaccurate items. My apologies for that.

That was a fun read :D. Love the irreverent style!

Just a little expansion on your tips and trick section: Ctrl+Click - For firefox (Mozilla) users, a trick here is to make sure your shop is opened in the first tab. Then use Ctrl+1+click. This will open your purchase in a new tab then take you back to the first tab. If your shop is opened in the second tab, just use Ctrl+2+click, for the same effect.

This works for any tab, just count from the first tab - but I find if I use the trick for the higher tab numbers, I either get a cramp in my hand or need to use two hands (which defeats the purpose).

Just added, thank you! ☺ I could learn a new shortcut everyday and it wouldn't be enough to cover it all..
