For a pet's custom overlay, does it need to be 200x200 from the get go when drawing it or can I make it a larger image for detail purposes and then shrink it? Also, it says a transparent or white background, but which would be the best choice between the two? Thank you!

400x400px or 500x500px are good sizes to use, then you resize it when you're done. Any bigger and you risk it looking weird when resized ie. lines too thin/pixelated and detail loss.

Personally I prefer working with 400x400px and saving the image as transparent so you don't have to work around a white background when it comes to pet profile design.
