I have been reading a bunch of books to one of my pets, and I got a message saying that my pet has earned an alchemy point. What do alchemy points do? Where would I use them?

i explained this a little on your question about books, but alchemy points determine what scrolls your pet can make at the secluded shrine, and which ones/how many they can use in battle.

at the secluded shrine, you can make scrolls by combining ingredients. the more AP your active pet has, the higher level scroll options you'll be able to make. these scrolls have different effects, such as doing different types/amounts of damage in battle, or healing your pet.

to use the scrolls in battle, you have to make a scroll set. each scroll requires a certain number of AP to use, so for example if your pet has 20 AP, you could build a scroll set consisting of one 20-AP scroll, or four 5-AP scrolls, or any other combination that adds up to less than 20.

if you're not interested in battling, there's no need to worry about how this feature works.

note that alchemy points and scroll crafting have NOTHING to do with the other alchemy feature, which allows you to craft special items with ingredients from the philosopher's store, but only if you have a zombie skin (which you can unlock during survival, subeta's valentine's holiday that has already passed for this year, so you'll have to wait until next february to do so).
